The Tektronix TPS2000 Series is a family of digital storage oscilloscopes consisting of the TPS2012, TPS2014, and TPS2024. An oscilloscope captures voltage waveforms over time so an engineer can see a signal's amplitude, frequency, timing, and shape. What sets the TPS2000 Series apart is Tektronix IsolatedChannel technology: every input channel, plus the external trigger input, is fully isolated and floating. Tektronix describes it as the world's first 4-isolated-channel, full-featured, battery-powered oscilloscope, designed to make floating and differential measurements quickly, accurately, and affordably.
The series is intended for industrial power design, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance; advanced electronics design, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance; automotive design and test; and education. Its isolated channels let you make floating and differential measurements and speed verification of power supply performance, complex control circuits, and the effects of neutral current. With the TPS2PBND power bundle and TPS2PWR1 software, a single instrument performs three-phase power measurements of variable frequency drives, switching loss analysis, harmonic distortion measurements to the 50th harmonic, and dv/dt and di/dt cursor measurements.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house against the original manufacturer's specifications before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received. That combination of held inventory and in-house verification lets ValueTronics match the right instrument and condition to your application.
The TPS2000 Series comprises three digital storage oscilloscopes — the TPS2012, TPS2014, and TPS2024 — that share IsolatedChannel technology, hot-swappable battery operation, standard FFT, and 11 automatic measurements. All three make fully isolated, floating, and differential measurements with the same float-voltage ratings and the same documentation and connectivity feature set.
Within that common architecture, the models differ in channel count, bandwidth, and sample rate, so each is offered as its own configuration. The comparison table below lays out those differences side by side.
Each pre-owned model below links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that fits your channel-count and bandwidth requirement, then choose the pre-owned listing that matches your budget and availability needs.
The TPS2012 provides 2 isolated channels with 100 MHz bandwidth and a 1.0 GS/s per-channel sample rate. The TPS2014 keeps the 100 MHz bandwidth and 1.0 GS/s sample rate but adds two more channels for 4 isolated channels. The TPS2024 offers 4 isolated channels at 200 MHz bandwidth with a 2.0 GS/s per-channel sample rate.
Time base range tracks bandwidth as well: the TPS2012 and TPS2014 span 5 ns to 50 s/div, while the TPS2024 extends to 2.5 ns to 50 s/div. All three share the 2.5 K-point record length, 8-bit vertical resolution, and 2 mV to 5 V/div sensitivity. The comparison table summarizes these per-model differences.
| Model | Bandwidth | Channels | Sample Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| TPS2024 | 200 MHz | 4 | 2.0 GS/s |
| TPS2012 | 100 MHz | 2 | 1.0 GS/s |
| TPS2014 | 100 MHz | 4 | 1.0 GS/s |

Important: Do not float the P2220 probe common lead above 30 VRMS. Use the P5120 (floatable to 600 VRMS CAT II or 300 VRMS CAT III) or a similarly rated high-voltage or differential probe when floating the common lead above 30 VRMS.
Important: For floating/differential measurements above 30 VRMS, the optional P5120 passive high-voltage probe (or the TPS2PBND power bundle) is required and is not included with the standard instrument — it must be ordered separately (see Recommended Accessories).
Important: The CompactFlash mass-storage card is not included with the instrument (Type 1 CompactFlash up to and including 1 GB must be supplied separately).
Important: TPS2000 Series oscilloscopes are not intended for use in wet or damp conditions.
Important: Bandwidth is 20 MHz at 2 mV/div on all models; 200 MHz is typical at 5 mV/div on 200 MHz models only, including typical 200 MHz between 40 ºC and 50 ºC on 200 MHz models only.
Recommended pairing: add the TPS2PBND power bundle — four P5120 high-voltage probes and TPS2PWR1 power measurement and analysis software — to perform the series' power-specific measurements.
