Welcome to ValueTronics

Networking the world of test instruments

ValueTronics was founded by John Griffith in 1992 as a buyer
and seller of used electronic test equipment. Over time, the company expanded
to include distribution of new instrumentation, building relationships with
more than 300 manufacturers. Today, ValueTronics supplies both new and used
electronic test and measurement equipment to customers and partners worldwide.

Following John Griffith’s passing, ownership transferred to
Glenn Dulski, who continued to build on ValueTronics’ core mission of providing
dependable test equipment solutions supported by knowledgeable service and
efficient processes.

In February 2026, ownership transitioned to Barry Preece, a
disabled veteran with extensive leadership experience in the electronic test
and measurement industry. Under Barry’s ownership, ValueTronics remains
committed to the principles that have guided the company since its founding:
technical integrity, operational discipline, and professional support for
engineers, buyers, and test organizations worldwide.

Barry Preece
CEO, Majority Partner
My career has been defined by two things: a deep respect for critical technology and an unwavering commitment to the people who rely on it. My journey started in the woods and rolling hills of Ohio. This remoteness led me to enlist in the Army Reserve while still in high school. I spent my early years learning the intricate mechanics of auto repair and medical equipment before earning my degree in Communication from Ohio University. Shortly after graduation, I deployed to the Middle East for Operation Iraqi Freedom. My service left a permanent mark on my life, I survived the war zone only to be injured by invisible toxins. Exposure to burn pit chemicals left me with a VA Disability Rating, but it also forged motivation and resilience that has guided every step of my career since. Returning to civilian life, I knew I wanted to bridge the gap between complex engineering and commercial strategy. I cut my teeth at GE Healthcare, supervising a team of 16 biomedical technicians across 30 hospitals and serving on safety committees. By 2009, I moved to Naperville and entered into sales with Johnson & Johnson. My path eventually led me to Valuetronics, where I spent three fantastic years learning the core of this business. From there, I took on escalating sales leadership roles; managing national distributors, achieving top-tier honors at Electro Rent, and ultimately driving strategic accounts at Keysight Technologies for over five years. Now, my journey has come full circle. I am thrilled to return to Valuetronics as CEO. Because I've walked the floor, sold the equipment, and used these instruments in the field, I understand exactly what this industry requires. I am excited to leverage that extensive T&M background to continue growing Valuetronics into the future. Thank you for being our customer, we truly appreciate everything.
