The Tektronix TPS2000B Series is a family of digital storage oscilloscopes built around Tektronix IsolatedChannel technology and offered in two- or four-channel versions. Designed for productivity from bench to field, it combines familiar analog-style knobs and a multilanguage user interface with isolated, floating channel inputs and standard battery operation. Each input connector shell is isolated from the others and from earth ground, allowing floating and differential measurements with less worry about damaging circuitry.
The series is applied to industrial power design, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance; advanced electronics design, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance; automotive design and test; and education. For work on power electronics, optional power application software integrates commonly needed power system measurements into the instrument, speeding up power analysis and troubleshooting.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Pre-owned units are inspected and functionally verified in our own facility before they ship, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received. Holding inventory in-house lets our team match the right instrument and condition to each application.
Tektronix, founded in 1946, became a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation in 2007. In 2016 Danaher spun off its test and measurement businesses into Fortive Corporation, under which the Tektronix brand has continued to operate.
The TPS2000B Series comprises the TPS2012B, TPS2014B, and TPS2024B digital storage oscilloscopes, offered in two- or four-channel versions and unified by Tektronix IsolatedChannel technology. Every model isolates its input connector shells from each other and from earth ground, supporting floating and differential measurements within a 600 VRMS maximum float voltage.
Battery operation is standard across the family, with capacity for two hot-swappable battery packs, and FFT, integrated CompactFlash storage, RS-232 and Centronics parallel ports, and OpenChoice PC software are common to all three models. The differences between them lie in channel count, bandwidth, and sample rate, summarized in the comparison table below.
Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that fits your channel-count and bandwidth requirements to see its current pre-owned availability and price.
The three models differ primarily in channel count, bandwidth, and real-time sample rate. The TPS2012B provides two isolated channels at 100 MHz bandwidth with a 1 GS/s sample rate per channel, while the TPS2014B offers four isolated channels at the same 100 MHz bandwidth and 1 GS/s sample rate. The four-channel TPS2024B extends bandwidth to 200 MHz with a 2 GS/s sample rate per channel.
The added channels on the TPS2014B and TPS2024B allow viewing of three-phase voltages or currents when the optional power application software is used. The TPS2024B also offers a faster time-base range, reaching 2.5 ns/div versus 5 ns/div on the 100 MHz models. All three share the 2.5k-point record length, 8-bit vertical resolution, and 2 mV to 5 V/div vertical sensitivity. Refer to the comparison table for the per-model figures.
| Model | Bandwidth | Channels | Sample Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| TPS2012B | 100 MHz | 2 | 1.0 GS/s |
| TPS2014B | 100 MHz | 4 | 1.0 GS/s |
| TPS2024B | 200 MHz | 4 | 2.0 GS/s |

Important: Do not float the TPP0201 probe common lead above 30 VRMS. To float the common lead above 30 VRMS, use the P5122 or P5120 (floatable to 600 VRMS CAT II) or a similarly rated passive high-voltage probe, or an appropriately rated high-voltage differential probe.
Important: Within the specified 600 VRMS maximum float voltage, IsolatedChannel technology keeps current from flowing between the TPS2000B input BNC shells or from any BNC shell to earth.
Important: With the included TPP0201 passive probes the TPS2000B can measure up to 400 Vp-p; however, to meet the safety rating of the TPP0201, the reference lead of the probe must be maintained within 30 VRMS relative to ground. Measurements on power conversion electronics usually require probes with higher voltage ratings, such as the optional P5120 or P5122, which must be ordered separately.
Important: The P5122 probe should not be used for AC-coupled measurements on signals with greater than 300 V DC offset. The P5120 is the recommended probe for measuring ripple on high-voltage DC supplies.
Important: CompactFlash card not included: the instrument accepts any Type 1 CompactFlash card, up to and including 2 GB, which must be supplied separately.
Important: Power measurements (instantaneous power waveform analysis, harmonics analysis, switching loss, phase angles, and dv/dt and di/dt cursor measurements) require the optional TPS2PWR1 power application package.
Important: Do not operate in an environment where conductive pollutants may be present (Pollution Degree 2 as defined in IEC61010-1:2001); TPS2000B Series oscilloscopes are not intended for use in wet or damp conditions.
Important: TPSBAT battery contains less than 8 grams equivalent Lithium.
Recommended pairing: the optional TPS2PWR1 power software is offered with high-voltage probes as the TPS2PBND bundle (four P5120 probes) or the TPS2PBND2 bundle (four P5122 probes) for power conversion measurements.
