The Tektronix MDO3000 Series is a Mixed Domain Oscilloscope built as a 6-in-1 integrated instrument: a world-class oscilloscope combined with an integrated spectrum analyzer, arbitrary function generator, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, and a digital voltmeter/counter. The series is completely customizable and fully upgradeable, so functionality, bandwidth, and spectrum analyzer frequency range can be added at purchase or later as needs change. The oscilloscope core offers tools that speed each stage of debug — discovering anomalies, capturing them, searching the waveform record for events of interest, and analyzing device behavior.

The series supports a broad range of measurement work documented across its application sections, including mixed-signal design and analysis, serial bus debugging, spectral and RF analysis, and video design and development with IRE and mV graticules, video triggers, and a video picture mode for NTSC and PAL signals. Optional power analysis tools characterize power quality, switching loss, harmonics, safe operating area (SOA), modulation, ripple, and slew rate (dI/dt, dV/dt), and optional limit and mask testing compares a signal against golden waveforms or custom masks for long-term monitoring and production-line pass/fail testing.

ValueTronics stocks this equipment directly from our own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is handled in-house: pre-owned units are inspected and functionally verified by our technicians before they ship, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The MDO3000 Series comprises ten base models spanning five analog bandwidth tiers — 100 MHz, 200 MHz, 350 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1 GHz — with each tier offered in a 2-channel or 4-channel configuration. Every model is a Mixed Domain Oscilloscope sharing the same 6-in-1 architecture, 10 M record length on all channels, integrated spectrum analyzer, and upgrade path.

Because the instrument is fully upgradeable, analog bandwidth and spectrum analyzer frequency range can be increased after purchase, and optional instruments — 16 digital channels (MDO3MSO), the arbitrary function generator (MDO3AFG), and the 9 kHz–3 GHz spectrum analyzer (MDO3SA) — can be added to any model as needs change or budget allows.

Each model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the pre-owned configuration that matches your required bandwidth tier and channel count; the per-model specifications are listed in the comparison table that follows.

The primary differences across the family are analog bandwidth (100 MHz through 1 GHz), channel count (2 or 4 analog channels), and sample rate — 1 GHz models (MDO3102, MDO3104) provide up to 5 GS/s while the 100 MHz–500 MHz models provide 2.5 GS/s. Rise time and maximum waveform capture rate also vary by tier, and the standard included passive probe differs by bandwidth: TPP0250 on 100/200 MHz models, TPP0500B on 350/500 MHz models, and TPP1000 on 1 GHz models.

A few capabilities are specific to the 1 GHz models: the built-in 75 Ω input termination is not available on them, and high-speed USB decode is supported only on 1 GHz models. The standard spectrum analyzer frequency range tracks each model's analog bandwidth (for example, 9 kHz–100 MHz up to 9 kHz–1 GHz) and can be upgraded to 9 kHz–3 GHz on any model. Refer to the comparison table for the exact bandwidth, sample rate, and record-length values per model.

Model Bandwidth Analog Channels Sample Rate
MDO3032 350 MHz 2 2.5 GS/s
MDO3012 100 MHz 2 2.5 GS/s
MDO3014 100 MHz 4 2.5 GS/s
MDO3022 200 MHz 2 2.5 GS/s

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
