The Agilent N6700 Low-Profile Modular Power System (MPS) is a 1U-high, multiple-output programmable DC power supply system that lets test system integrators optimize performance, power, and price to match their test needs. It gives designers the flexibility to mix and match from 20 different DC power modules to create a 1- to 4-channel DC power system in a single rack unit, investing in high-performance outputs where speed and accuracy are needed and basic-performance outputs for simple DC power requirements.
The N6700 MPS is built for ATE systems in R&D, design validation, and manufacturing. Power supplies are a fundamental component of test systems across industries that include aerospace and defense, consumer electronics, computers and peripherals, communications, semiconductor, and automotive electronics. The precision modules in the family are suited to semiconductor and passive device testing, while the high-speed measurement capability supports design validation of battery-powered digital devices where understanding current drain and DUT power management is important.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding our own stock means the instruments we list are instruments we can put hands on, ready to support engineers building and maintaining their test systems.
Agilent Technologies began as the test-and-measurement and analytical business of Hewlett-Packard, which spun it out as a separate company in 1999. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement business was established as a standalone company, Keysight Technologies. Equipment originally branded Agilent is part of that continuous corporate lineage.
The N6700 Low-Profile Modular Power System is a single family built around three mainframes — the 400 W N6700B, the 600 W N6701A, and the 1200 W N6702A — each of which holds one to four DC power modules in 1U of rack space. The system is sold either as a mainframe and modules ordered as separate products, or as a build-to-order N6710B, N6711A, or N6712A system that ships fully assembled.
The 20 available modules span several families: the N6730 50 W and N6740 100 W basic DC modules, the N6750 high-performance autoranging modules, the N6760 precision modules, and the N6770 300 W modules. Modules can be mixed and matched within a mainframe so a single system can combine high-performance outputs with basic DC outputs as the application requires.
Each pre-owned model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the mainframe or module configuration that fits your test system, and review that page for its specific output ratings and available options.
The mainframes differ primarily in total available output power: 400 W (N6700B), 600 W (N6701A), and 1200 W (N6702A). The N6702A senses the available AC line power at turn-on and limits output to 600 W on a standard outlet, requiring 200 Vac operation (and option 929) to reach its full 1200 W. The modules differ by output voltage, current, and power as shown in the comparison table that follows — ranging from 5 V up to 100 V and 50 W, 100 W, or 300 W per module.
Module capabilities also differ by family. High-Speed Test Extensions are optional on the N6750 autoranging modules and standard on the N6760 precision modules, and the precision modules add dual programming and measurement ranges for milliampere and microampere work. The N6753A and N6754A 300 W autoranging modules each occupy two module slots in the mainframe, while all other modules occupy one slot; relay options 760 and 761 have differing availability per module, as detailed in the comparison table.

Important: Output terminal isolation: no output terminal may be more than 240 VDC from any other terminal or chassis ground.
Important: For model N6702A (and N6712A system), the maximum output power is limited to 600 W at 100 VAC. To achieve full output power of 1200 W, you must use option 929 and operate at 200 VAC.
Important: When configuring a mainframe with fewer than 4 filled module slots, you MUST order a Filler Panel Kit; each filler panel fills one empty module slot and each kit contains 3 filler panels. Proper operation requires all empty slots to be filled.
Important: If you will be rack mounting the N6700, you MUST order the Rack Mount Kit (option 908 / N6709A). Standard rack mount hardware, rails, or slides will not work and are not compatible because of the unit's 1U size and airflow requirements.
Important: The N6753A and N6754A 300 W high-performance autoranging modules each occupy 2 module slots in the mainframe; all other modules occupy 1 module slot.
Important: When Option 760 Output Disconnect/Polarity Reversal Relays is installed in the N6742B or N6773A, the maximum output current is limited to 10 A. Option 760 is not available on the N6741B.
Important: Option LGA must be ordered on N6751A and N6752A modules; it adds a large-size FPGA required to support output sequencing between multiple mainframes.
Important: Output sequencing across multiple mainframes is supported on N6700B, N6701A and N6702A mainframes; it is not supported on N6700A mainframes.
Important: If you add modules with model numbers N673xA, N673xB, N674xA, N674xB, N6753A, N6754A or N677xA to an N672xA, you will not be able to access the Agilent 662x command set for any installed modules; only SCPI commands will be accepted.
Important: New modules N6753A and N6754A require mainframe firmware version C.02.00 or greater (available at www.agilent.com/find/N6700firmware).
