The Keysight N1913B and N1914B are EPM Series RF average power meters. The N1913B is a single-channel meter and the N1914B is a dual-channel meter, and both are designed as replacements for the earlier N1913A and N1914A while retaining backward compatibility with them. They support all average power sensors and their associated frequency ranges, with the measurable power range determined by the connected sensor, and they extend average power measurement to Keysight USB power sensors, including USB peak power sensors used in average-power mode.

These meters address RF average power measurement across CW, modulated, and wireless-standard signals. Listed application areas include metrology-lab work, radar and navigation, and mobile-radio standards such as GSM, EDGE, GPRS, cdma2000, cdmaONE, 3G, HSPA, and LTE, along with wireless LAN (802.11a/b/g/n), WPAN (Bluetooth, RFID, ZigBee), and WMAN (WiMAX, WiBro) testing. A VGA output supports connecting a large external monitor to enhance manufacturing test.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned order ships from that facility; used units are inspected and functionally verified in-house before shipment, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard, whose test-and-measurement business was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999. Agilent's electronic measurement division then became the independent Keysight Technologies in 2014.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The EPM Series covered here comprises two average power meters: the single-channel N1913B and the dual-channel N1914B. Both are positioned as versatile replacements for the discontinued N1913A and N1914A, and both retain backward compatibility with those earlier units.

The two meters share a common feature set, including the color LCD readout, the same broad sensor compatibility, and GPIB, USB, and LAN connectivity. They differ primarily in channel count and the resulting measurement-display and measurement-speed behavior, and with the optional USB sensor ports the dual-channel meter can present up to four channels of measurement.

Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with pre-owned-matched pricing. Compare the N1913B and N1914B on the points that matter for your application, such as channel count and display configuration, then select the page for the model and condition you need.

The core difference is channel count: the N1913B is a single-channel meter, while the N1914B provides dual channels and can simultaneously display combinations such as A, B, A/B, B/A, A-B, B-A, and relative. On the N1914B, the rear-panel recorder outputs are dedicated to channels A and B.

Measurement speed also differs. With E-Series sensors in fast mode the N1913B reaches up to 400 readings per second, while the N1914B's typical maximum is reduced to about 200 readings per second with both channels in fast mode. Both models can expand to four channels via the optional USB sensor ports. The comparison table below summarizes these per-model differences.

Model Channels Frequency Range Power Range
N1913B 1 DC to 120 GHz (sensor dependent) –70 to +44 dBm (sensor dependent)
N1914B 2 DC to 120 GHz (sensor dependent) –70 to +44 dBm (sensor dependent)
N1914B 2 DC to 120 GHz (sensor dependent) –70 to +44 dBm (sensor dependent)

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Warranted performance specifications apply after a 30-minute warm-up and after performing a zero and calibration procedure.
Important: A compatible power sensor is not included with the power meter and must be ordered separately. The meter supports all average power sensors (Keysight 8480 Series, E-Series E4412A/E4413A CW and E9300 Series average sensors, N8480 Series, E/V/W8486A waveguide sensors, and supported USB power sensors); the power range depends on the connected power sensor.
Important: The BenchVue software license (BV0007B) is now included with the instrument.
Recommended pairing: match a Keysight E-Series (E4412A/E4413A CW, E9300 average) or 8480 Series power sensor to your frequency and power range; the meter automatically reads the sensor's stored calibration-factor data.
