The Tektronix DPO/DSA70000B and MSO70000 Series are high-performance digital and mixed signal oscilloscopes built to support engineers across the full design cycle, from prototype turn-on through production testing. The series spans Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO), Digital Serial Analyzer (DSA), and Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO) configurations, with analog bandwidth options from 4 GHz to 20 GHz, each delivering its rated bandwidth matched across all four input channels.
These instruments are applied to design verification — including signal integrity, jitter, and timing analysis — as well as design characterization of high-speed, sophisticated designs. Additional uses include certification testing of serial data streams to industry standards, memory bus analysis and debug, prototype turn-on and power supply verification, research and investigation of transient phenomena, production testing of complex systems, and spectral analysis of transient or wide-bandwidth RF signals.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, giving buyers a single accountable source for new and pre-owned test and measurement equipment. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
Tektronix has built oscilloscopes under its own name since 1946. The company was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2007 and, following Danaher's 2016 spin-off of its test and measurement businesses, became part of Fortive Corporation. The Tektronix brand has been retained throughout these ownership changes.
The DPO/DSA70000B and MSO70000 Series is a single oscilloscope family offered across six analog bandwidth tiers — 4, 6, 8, 12.5, 16, and 20 GHz — and three instrument configurations: the Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO), the Digital Serial Analyzer (DSA), and the Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO). All members share the same four-channel analog front end and core acquisition architecture, differing in bandwidth, sample rate, standard memory, and the presence of integrated logic channels.
The DSA70000B configuration is specifically configured for high-speed serial data design, encapsulating serial-domain features — such as real-time serial pattern triggering and DPOJET jitter and eye-diagram analysis — that are offered as options on the DPO and MSO configurations. The MSO configuration extends the four-channel oscilloscope with 16 integrated logic channels for mixed-signal debug.
Each model in the series links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing for the pre-owned unit you select. Use the comparison table below to identify the bandwidth, configuration, and memory that match your application, then open the individual model page for current pre-owned availability.
Across the family, the primary differences are bandwidth and the acquisition specifications that scale with it. The 4, 6, and 8 GHz models sample at 25 GS/s on all channels, while the 12.5, 16, and 20 GHz models sample at 50 GS/s. Standard record length is 10 MS per channel on the DPO and MSO models and 20 MS on the DSA models, with optional memory reaching 125 MS on the 4–8 GHz models and 250 MS on the 12.5–20 GHz models.
Configuration is the second axis of choice. The MSO models add 16 logic channels — sampling at 12.5 GS/s with 80 ps timing resolution — that the DPO and DSA models do not include, while the DSA models ship with serial-analysis and DPOJET features standard. The comparison table below lists each model's bandwidth, sample rate, standard memory, and channel count side by side.
| Model | Bandwidth | Sample Rate | Standard Record Length |
|---|---|---|---|
| DPO70604B | 6 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 MS |
| DPO70404B | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 MS |
| DSA70404B | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 20 MS |
| MSO70404 | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 MS |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Maximum input voltage (50 Ω): <5.0 VRMS for ≥100 mV/div; 1.0 VRMS for <100 mV/div.
Important: Measurement probes are not included with the base instrument; appropriate probes must be ordered separately from the Recommended Accessories list (e.g., the P7500 TriMode probing system covering 4 GHz to 20 GHz, and on MSO70000 models the P6780 and P6717 logic probes).
Important: When ordering, please specify the quick-start user manual language and the power plug.
Important: Option 20XL (250 MS/Ch record length) is available only on models of bandwidth ≥12.5 GHz.
Important: Serial pattern triggering, DPOJET (Option DJA), Advanced Event Search and Mark (Option ASM), and mask/protocol options (MTH, PTH) come standard on the DSA70000B Series but are options on the DPO70000B and MSO70000 Series.
Important: Rackmount options are available for mounting into an EIA standard 19 inch (487 mm) rack; an IEEE 488.2 standard GPIB interface is standard on all models.
Recommended pairing: the P7500 TriMode probing system provides signal connectivity matched to the series from 4 GHz to 20 GHz, switchable among differential, single-ended, and common-mode measurements without repositioning the probe.
