Siglent SNA5003X-E 3 GHz Vector Network Analyzer
The SNA5003X‑E vector network analyzer (VNA) is the lower‑bandwidth model in the SNA5000X‑E family, designed for applications that operate at or below 3 GHz. Within the series, it offers the same core measurement capabilities, calibration options, and user interface as the higher‑frequency model, but it is developed as a more cost‑efficient choice for RF design, validation, and production environments.

Functions And Characteristics
Types of calibration: Choose the calibration that best matches your setup. Response calibration, Enhanced Response calibration, Full-one port calibration, Full-two port calibration, and TRL calibration.

Types of measurement: Scattering-parameter measurement, differential-parameter measurement, receiver measurement, time domain parameter analysis, impedance conversion, fixture simulation, and adapter removal/insertion, spectrum analysis. These capabilities enable engineers to evaluate frequency-domain characteristics, analyze impedance discontinuities, and quickly locate faults within devices under test. A built-in eye diagram function further supports high-speed signal integrity analysis, improving debugging efficiency during development.

Sweep types: Sweeping refers to the measurement of a series of consecutive data points against a series of specified excitation values. There are five, Linear-Frequency mode, Log-Frequency mode, Power-Sweep mode, CW-Time mode, and Segment-Sweep mode.

Limit Tests: Compare the measured data with the defined limit and provide the qualified or unqualified judgment information of each measured data point.

Automation and Production Test
In production or automated test setups, the SNA5000X‑E series make one-click filter characteristic analysis to quickly obtain key specs like insertion loss and bandwidth. It also supports custom formulas and can be controlled remotely through SCPI or its built‑in WebServer, which helps tie it into automated systems and keeps testing consistent and efficient.

SNA5000X-E Series
The SIGLENT SNA5000X-E series of Vector Network Analyzers includes two models ranging from 9 kHz up to 6.5 GHz which support 2-port scattering parameter, differential-parameter, and time-domain parameter measurements. The series of VNAs are effective instrumentation for determining the Q-factor, bandwidth, and insertion loss of a filter. They feature impedance conversion, movement of measurement plane, fixture simulation, and adapter removal/insertion adjustments. They also support scattering-parameter correction of SOLT, SOLR, TRL, Response, and Enhanced Response.

Question And Answer

What makes the SNA5000X‑E series of VNAs useful for filter characterization?
The SSNA5000X-E series is ideal for determining the Q-factor, bandwidth, and insertion loss of a filter. They feature impedance conversion, movement of measurement plane, limit testing, ripple test, fixture simulation, and adapter removal / insertion adjustments.

What optional functions are available for the SNA5000X-E series?
TheSNA5000X‑E series can be upgraded with a high‑performance reference source (SNA5000-HPR) that lets it handle higher RF power, which is great for power‑amp testing or stressing components without risking damage. On the software side, you can add time‑domain and TDR tools (SNA5000-TDR) to spot impedance changes, isolate parts of a fixture, track a fault-location or high-speed interconnects. There’s also a spectrum‑analysis option (SNA5000-SA) for occupied bandwidth and channel‑power or noise measurements.

What correction features do the SNA5000X-E series provide?
You can use several correction features to reduce errors introduced by test cables and fixtures, including automatic fixture removal, de‑embedding, port extension, and impedance conversion.
