View full details

The Siglent SDM4065A is a 6½-digit digital multimeter built for high-precision, multifunctional, and automatic measurement. It pairs outstanding measurement accuracy with a 5-inch true-color touchable display and a refreshed user interface, delivering real 6½-digit (2,200,000 count) reading resolution in a benchtop instrument designed around both manual and automated test workflows.

A digital multimeter measures electrical quantities—voltage, current, resistance, and related parameters—and presents them as numeric readings, making it one of the most universal instruments on any electronics bench. The SDM4065A is positioned for research laboratory, development laboratory, repair and maintenance, calibration laboratory, and automatic production test environments, covering the span from bench characterization to automated production lines.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The SDM4065A family comprises two models that share an identical measurement core—the same 6½-digit (2,200,000 count) resolution, 35 ppm DCV basic accuracy, 50,000 rdgs/s maximum reading rate, and full function set. The two models are distinguished by scanner support: the base SDM4065A and the SDM4065A-SC, which adds a 16-channel scanner card.

Both models present the same 5-inch TFT touchscreen interface, the same DCV-to-1000 V / ACV-to-750 V / current-to-10 A measurement ranges, and the same LAN, USB Host, and USB Device connectivity with optional GPIB. The choice between them is driven by whether multipoint scanning is needed for the intended application.

Each new model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that matches your required configuration to see its current new availability and price.

The SDM4065A-SC integrates the SC1016 scanner card, which provides 12 multipurpose channels plus 4 current channels and supports DCV, ACV, DCI, ACI, 2-wire and 4-wire resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, and temperature measurement across its channels, making it suited to test setups requiring multiple measurement points such as R&D burn-in and production testing.

The primary difference between the models, as shown in the selection guide, is scanner support: the SDM4065A lists Support Scanner as No, while the SDM4065A-SC lists it as Yes and ships with a 16-channel scanner card. All headline metrology specifications—digits, DCV basic accuracy, maximum reading rate, ranges, and logging memory—are common to both.

Refer to the comparison table for the model-by-model breakdown. Note that, per the datasheet, the scanner model is not available in some regions for policy and regulatory reasons; consult the comparison table and your local availability when selecting between the two configurations.

Model Digits DCV Basic Accuracy Max Reading Rate
SDM4065A 35 ppm 50,000 rdgs/s
SDM4065A-SC 35 ppm 50,000 rdgs/s

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: For continuous current higher than DC 7 A or AC 7 Arms, 30 seconds off after 30 seconds on is recommended.
Important: The scanner model (SDM4065A-SC) is, for policy and regulatory reasons, not available in some regions; please contact the local distributor for more information.
Important: Scanner card caution: to avoid damage to the instrument, do not pull out the scanner card while the instrument is active; wait until the instrument is powered off before performing the corresponding operation.
Important: Scanner card caution: keep the front panel inputs floating when using the scanner card to avoid damage to the switch and electrical shock from the front panel inputs.
Important: DCV input beyond ±26 V on the 200 mV, 2 V and 20 V ranges is clamped through an inner 408 kΩ resistor.
Important: 30 A measurement is supported only when the multimeter is paired with an external shunt (e.g. the SCD30A 30 A Diverter).
Recommended pairing: use the optional SCD30A 30 A Diverter to extend current measurement up to 30 A as noted in the ordering information.
