The Keysight P50xxA Streamline Series is a portable vector network analyzer family delivered in a compact chassis and controlled by an external computer, bringing high-end network-analysis performance to a benchtop or field footprint. The series spans 2-port models (P500xA) and 4- or 6-port models (P502xA), with coverage up to 53 GHz on 2- and 4-port models and up to 20 GHz on 6-port models. Across the family the VNA is positioned for fast, reliable, and repeatable measurements with key specifications including dynamic range, measurement speed, trace noise, and temperature stability.

As a vector network analyzer, the P50xxA characterizes how a device responds to RF stimulus across frequency — magnitude and phase of reflection and transmission. The series is intended for the complete characterization of passive components, amplifiers, mixers, and frequency converters. A portfolio of software applications extends the compact analyzer into a broader RF measurement solution, including spectrum analysis, pulsed-RF measurement, enhanced time-domain analysis with TDR, and multi-instrument or multi-site configurations.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, so the instruments we list are equipment we keep on hand. Every pre-owned unit is supported by our team of test-and-measurement specialists; each used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received.

Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard. HP's test-and-measurement business was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and that business was established as Keysight Technologies in 2014.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The Streamline Series A-models share a common portable, PC-controlled architecture and differ primarily in port count and upper frequency limit. The 2-port P500xA models and 4-/6-port P502xA models all use the same compact chassis and external-PC control, and all carry the family's key specifications for dynamic range, measurement speed, trace noise, and temperature stability.

Within the series, 2- and 4-port models reach up to 53 GHz, while 6-port models extend the test-port count at up to 20 GHz. A second internal source is available on certain 4-port configurations, and multiple units can be combined into a single multiport analyzer with the appropriate software.

Each pre-owned model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing, so you can select the exact port count and frequency tier your application requires and see the price for that specific configuration.

The models differ mainly along three axes: number of test ports (2, 4, or 6), upper frequency limit, and test-port connector type. Test-port connectors are 3.5 mm female on the lower-frequency models, 2.4 mm female on the 32 GHz and 44 GHz models, and 1.85 mm female on the 53 GHz models.

Upper frequency coverage ranges from 4.5 GHz to 53 GHz across the A-model series, and corresponding TDR step rise time, impulse width, and maximum eye-diagram data rate scale with each model's bandwidth. Consult the comparison table that follows for the per-model frequency limit, port count, and connector type.

Model Frequency Range Test Ports Connector Type
P5022A 9 kHz to 9 GHz 4 / 6 3.5 mm female
P5000A 9 kHz to 4.5 GHz 2 3.5 mm female
P5001A 9 kHz to 6.5 GHz 2 3.5 mm female
P5002A 9 kHz to 9 GHz 2 3.5 mm female

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: Damage input level: +27 dBm or ±35 VDC (warranted).
Important: The P50xxA Streamline Series VNA is controlled by an external computer and is not a standalone benchtop instrument. A host PC meeting the stated system requirements (Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, USB 3.0 port directly connected to the Intel chipset, Keysight IO Libraries) is required to operate the analyzer and is not included.
Important: Advanced measurement modes require separately ordered hardware options and software licenses: spectrum analysis requires Option 090/190 with S97090B software; pulsed-RF measurements require Option 021/022 with S97024B or S97025B software; enhanced time domain analysis (TDR) requires S97011B software; multi-instrument (multiport) operation requires S97551B software.
Important: For multi-instrument (multiport) configuration of two P50xxA VNAs, the interconnect cables included in the Y1701A must be used; P50xxA units cannot be combined with P50xxB/P937xA/P93xxB units to configure a multiport VNA due to hardware differences.
Important: If using a power sensor (wideband power detector) to measure or calibrate the power level above 45 GHz, an external filter is required to reduce sub-harmonics (applies to the 50 GHz/53 GHz models). Refer to the VNA webhelp for more details.
Recommended pairing: use a Keysight ECal module (such as the N4691D or N4694D) or a mechanical calibration kit named in the corrected-performance tables to obtain error-corrected measurements.
