The Keysight N8900 Series is a family of autoranging, single-output programmable DC power supplies built for ATE applications. The series spans 5, 10, and 15 kW of maximum output power and delivers programmable DC across a range of 80 to 1500 V and 20 to 510 A. Its defining characteristic is an autoranging output that offers a wide range of voltage and current combinations at full power, so a single N8900 can do the work of multiple traditional supplies.
A DC power supply provides controlled, programmable electrical power to a device under test. The N8900 Series is aimed at ATE applications that require just the right amount of performance at just the right price, and it adds system-ready features intended to simplify and accelerate test-system development — multiple standard I/O interfaces and a compact 3U form factor that saves rack space.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding inventory directly means the pre-owned N8900 supply you order is on our own shelves and ready to move.
Keysight Technologies traces its roots to Hewlett-Packard, whose test-and-measurement business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement business became an independent, separately listed company under the Keysight Technologies name.
The N8900 Series comprises 28 autoranging system DC power supplies, organized into 5 kW, 10 kW, and 15 kW maximum-power classes. Within each power class the models differ in their maximum voltage and current ratings, spanning 80 V to 1500 V and 20 A to 510 A. Each of the 14 voltage/current/power combinations is offered with either a 208 VAC or a 400 VAC three-phase input, providing regional input flexibility across the full series.
All models share the same autoranging output characteristic, standard GPIB/LAN/USB/analog interfaces, built-in voltage and current measurement, and 3U chassis; what changes from model to model is the rated output envelope. The autoranging design lets each model deliver many voltage and current combinations at its full rated power rather than at a single fixed point.
Each model listed below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Choose the pre-owned configuration that matches the voltage, current, power, and AC-input combination your application requires to see availability and pricing for that exact model.
The models differ primarily along three axes shown in the comparison table: maximum output power (5, 10, or 15 kW), the maximum voltage and current envelope (from 80 V at high current up to 1500 V at lower current), and AC input voltage (208 VAC versus 400 VAC). Within a given power class, higher-voltage models trade maximum current for maximum voltage.
Because the outputs autorange, each model's rated power is available across a band of voltage and current rather than at a single point — the comparison table lists each model's maximum voltage, maximum current, and the current available at maximum voltage to show that usable range. Match the model to the highest voltage and current your test requires, then select the 208 VAC or 400 VAC input that fits your facility.

Important: Line cords and terminations are not included — the N8900 supplies ship without them, and users provide their own according to local laws and codes.
Important: Series operation is not recommended. Only parallel operation is supported: up to ten identical units (same model number) can be connected in parallel for greater output current and can be configured to look like one big power supply.
Important: AC input voltage selection: if the AC input voltage where the supply will be used is 187 to 229 VAC, choose a 208 VAC model (N8920A-N8937A); if 360 to 440 VAC, choose a 400 VAC model (N8940A-N8957A).
Important: For non-Keysight racks, use standard rack rails (the N8958A rack mount kit is for Keysight racks).
