The Keysight M9484C VXG is a vector signal generator built for the widest bandwidths, highest frequencies, and multichannel applications. Delivered as a fully integrated, calibrated, and synchronized solution, it can be paired with the V3080A vector signal generator frequency extender to reach millimeter-wave frequencies. Integration with PathWave Signal Generation software lets engineers create performance-optimized reference signals and reduce the time spent on signal simulation.
A vector signal generator produces modulated RF test signals with controlled amplitude, phase, and digital baseband content, providing the known stimulus that wireless and aerospace/defense test setups require. The M9484C addresses 5G NR FR1 and FR2, LTE, and WLAN 802.11be signal creation, and supports MIMO fading scenarios up to 8x8 configurations. It also generates 3GPP test models, single-tone, multitone, and noise-power-ratio (NPR) waveforms, and—through signal descriptor word (SDW) and pulse descriptor word (PDW) streaming—dynamic, long-duration scenarios within the baseband's instantaneous bandwidth.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding inventory directly lets our team match the right instrument and configuration to your application and ship it without the delays of a sourced-to-order model.
Keysight Technologies traces its roots to the test-and-measurement business of Hewlett-Packard, which was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999. That electronic measurement business was subsequently separated to form Keysight Technologies in 2014.
The M9484C VXG is offered across a range of CW frequency options—from 9 kHz to 6 GHz up to 9 kHz to 54 GHz—and in 1-, 2-, and 4-channel configurations, all delivered as integrated, calibrated, and synchronized instruments. The V3080A vector signal generator frequency extender complements the platform, extending coverage from 10 MHz up to 100 GHz (overrange to 110 GHz) when paired with a suitably equipped M9484C.
Each frequency option pairs with a specific RF output connector type, ranging from Type-N on the lower-frequency options to 1.85 mm and 1.0 mm on the higher-frequency and extender configurations. The configuration selected determines the available output power, modulation bandwidth, and synchronization behavior of the instrument.
Each pre-owned model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the frequency option, channel count, and configuration that fit your application to see the corresponding pre-owned listing and availability.
The models differ principally in CW frequency range (options 506 through 554, from 6 GHz to 54 GHz), channel count (options 001, 002, and 004 for one, two, and four channels), and RF output connector type. The V3080A frequency extender adds millimeter-wave coverage and requires an M9484C with option AL2 and frequency option 532, 544, or 554. Refer to the comparison table for the per-model specifications.
Output power capability also varies by configuration: the standard settable range reaches +20 dBm, while options 1EA, 1EB, and 1EC extend the maximum to +30 dBm depending on the frequency option. Baseband bandwidth, arbitrary waveform memory, and synchronization options are selected independently to match the intended measurement application; consult the comparison table for the values that apply to each configuration.

Important: Maximum reverse power: +27 dBm, 0 VDC (nominal).
Important: The V3080A frequency extender requires an M9484C with Option AL2 and frequency option 532, 544, or 554. Option AL2 is available only on M9484C with options 532, 544, or 554.
Important: If frequency option 532 or 544 is selected, settable frequency stops at that option's specified maximum and resumes at 52.8 GHz when the V3080A is connected.
Important: Data contained in this datasheet does not apply to the V3080A unless otherwise stated.
Important: Option 1EH (selectable harmonic filters) cannot be combined with frequency options 506 or 508.
Important: Pulse modulation cannot be used in combination with vector modulation, and external pulse input is not supported (no analog pulse inputs allowed).
Important: Power alignment should be run at regular intervals or whenever the operating temperature changes more than ± 5 °C from the previous alignment temperature.
Important: Signal Descriptor Word streaming (Option SDW) and the virtual channel options (2CH, 4CH, 8CH) are controlled for export under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); a license from the U.S. Department of State is required prior to export from the United States.
Important: Channel Bonding (Option CB5) requires an external combiner, available as accessory kits Y1166A and Y1167A, plus a supported Keysight X-Series Signal Analyzer (N9030B, N9040B, N9041B, or N9042B) to perform the necessary alignment.
