The LC334A, LC374A, LC534A, and LC574A make up a series of four-channel color digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) from LeCroy. LeCroy designed these instruments as integrated systems built to capture key events at high resolution over long time intervals, view data on a large color CRT with advanced display techniques, and analyze signals through an onboard processing system and math packages.
These oscilloscopes are aimed at the design and debug of fast digital systems and the capture of fast transient signals, where high-speed signal capture is required. Built-in math functions assist troubleshooting and diagnosis of circuit problems, and optional measurement packages extend the instruments to disk-drive measurements, optical recording measurements, and disk-drive failure analysis.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own test-and-measurement inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave the warehouse factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
LeCroy Corporation was founded in 1964 and built its reputation in high-speed digitizing and waveform analysis. In 2012 it was acquired by Teledyne Technologies and has since operated as Teledyne LeCroy.
The LC334A/374A/534A/574A series comprises four 4-channel color digital oscilloscopes that share a common platform — the 9-inch color display, the 96 MHz PowerPC processor, SMARTMemory management, and the same analysis and triggering toolset — while differing in bandwidth, sample rate, and acquisition-memory depth. Each base model is also offered in 'M' and 'L' memory configurations.
Within the series, LeCroy pairs the bandwidth tiers with sample-rate and memory options so capture performance can be matched to the signals under test, from 500 MHz design work through 1 GHz fast-risetime measurements.
Each model in the series links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing for the pre-owned unit you select. Review the bandwidth, sample-rate, and memory differences below, then open the specific model page for full specifications and current availability.
Two bandwidth tiers split the series: the LC334A and LC374A are specified at 500 MHz (-3 dB), while the LC534A and LC574A reach 1 GHz. Maximum sample rate also varies — the LC334A and LC534A are listed at 500 MS/s, the LC374A at 1 GS/s, and the LC574A at 1 GS/s, with single-shot rates reaching 2 GS/s on the LC334AL and LC534AL and 4 GS/s on the LC574AL.
Acquisition-memory depth is set by the configuration suffix: base, 'M', and 'L' models step up memory per channel, with the 'L' models offering the deepest memory — up to 8 million points total on the LC574AL. The comparison table below lists bandwidth, sample rate, and memory for each model so the differences can be read at a glance.
| Model | Bandwidth | Sample Rate | Memory/Channel |
|---|---|---|---|
| LC534A | 1 GHz | 500 MS/s | 100 kpts/ch |
| LC334A | 500 MHz | 500 MS/s | 100 kpts/ch |
| LC334AM | 500 MHz | 500 MS/s | 500 kpts/ch |
| LC334AL | 500 MHz | 500 MS/s | 2 Mpts/ch |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Model-Specific Acquisition (LC534A) | |
| Bandwidth (-3 dB) @ 50 Ω | DC to 1 GHz |
| Bandwidth (-3 dB) @ 1 MΩ | DC to 500 MHz typical at probe tip with PP005 standard |
| Single-Shot Sample Rate (all channels) | 500 MS/s |
| Maximum Interleaved Sample Rate (single channel) | 2 GS/s |
| Memory per Channel | 100 kpts/ch |
| Sensitivity (50 Ω) | 2 mV/div to 1 V/div, fully variable |
| Sensitivity (1 MΩ) | 2 mV/div to 10 V/div, fully variable |
| Offset Range (2.00 - 4.99 mV/div) | ±400 mV |
| Offset Range (5.00 - 99 mV/div) | ±1 V |
| Offset Range (0.1 - 1.0 V/div) | ±10 V |
| Offset Range (1.0 - 10 V/div) | ±100 V (1 MΩ only) |
| Input Impedance | 10 MΩ//11 pF (system capacitance using PP005) or 50 Ω ±1% |
| Max Input (1 MΩ) | 400 V (DC + peak AC ≤10 kHz) |
| Bandwidth Limiter | 25 MHz, 200 MHz |
| EXT Trigger Max Input | 10 MΩ//11 pF: 400 V (DC + peak AC ≤10 kHz); 50 Ω ±1%: ±5 V DC (500 mW) or 5 V RMS |
Important: Maximum input at 50 Ω: ±5 V DC (500 mW) or 5 V RMS.
Important: The AP54701A 2.5 GHz Active Probe and AP1143A Probe Offset and Power Module are normally ordered together.
Important: On the LC334A the @ 1 MΩ DC-to-500 MHz probe-tip bandwidth requires the optional 1 GHz FET probe; the LC374A, LC534A and LC574A include the PP005 probe as standard for this bandwidth.
Important: An internal graphics printer is standard in the 'L' models; on other configurations it is an optional accessory (GP01). The LC574AL additionally includes the Internal Graphics Printer and Parameter Analysis Package as standard.
Important: Analog Persistence is only available in four channel mode on LC334A models.
