The HAKKO HJ4000 is an SMD rework fixture built around a lightweight gantry and base frame. It works with select HAKKO SMD Hot Air Rework Stations and IR Preheaters to form a low-cost manual rework system. Its gantry design is similar to that of a pick-and-place system: the PCB remains stationary while the head assembly moves to accomplish X, Y, and rotational alignment using an integrated split-vision camera system.
The fixture is used both to remove surface-mount components and to accurately place them, handling devices as large as 45 mm square down to 1 mm square. Real-time alignment is viewed through a high-resolution color camera, lens, and prism system, with the split-vision optics letting the operator compare the component underside against the target location on the board.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. That combination lets engineers source rework and bench equipment from a single accountable supplier with stock on hand.
The HJ4000 is offered in two ordering configurations. The base HJ4000 is the rework fixture itself — gantry, base frame, split-vision camera system, and motion hardware. The HJ4000-SET is the same fixture supplied with one HAKKO FR811-04 and one HAKKO FR872-03 included.
Both configurations share identical mechanical, optical, and electrical specifications and differ only in what ships in the box. The fixture is designed to work alongside select HAKKO SMD Hot Air Rework Stations and IR Preheaters to build a complete manual rework system.
Each configuration linked below is its own new product page with condition-matched pricing, so you can select the exact item and condition your bench requires.
The practical difference between the two part numbers is bundling: the HJ4000 is the fixture alone, while the HJ4000-SET adds one FR811-04 and one FR872-03. See the comparison table for the per-configuration contents.
Because the underlying fixture is the same in both cases — identical X/Y/Z travel, ±30° rotation, 5 MP split-vision camera, and ±100 micron fine adjustment — the choice comes down to whether you need the bundled items included or already have them.

Important: The HJ4000 is a manual rework fixture that works with select HAKKO SMD Hot Air Rework Stations and IR Preheaters to provide a complete low-cost manual rework system; the rework station and preheater are not part of the fixture and must be provided separately.
Important: The Z-axis includes a hard stop to limit movement and prevent the nozzle from contacting the top surface of the PCB when lowered into position.
Important: The integrated split-vision alignment allows placement of SMD components as large as 45 mm square down to 1 mm square.
