The Keysight EL30000 Series Bench DC Electronic Loads are programmable DC loads designed for design verification of consumer power supplies, batteries, battery modules, solar panels, LED drivers, and power converters. The series includes three models: the EL33133A single-input load rated at 150 V, 40 A, 250 W; the EL34143A single-input load rated at 150 V, 60 A, 350 W; and the EL34243A dual-input load rated at 150 V, 60 A per channel with 300 W per input and 600 W total. Each model provides fully integrated voltmeter and ammeter capability to simultaneously measure voltage and current for the device under test, eliminating the need for external shunt resistors and cables.
An electronic load absorbs power from a device under test, simulating real-world load conditions while precisely controlling and measuring the energy drawn. The EL30000 Series is positioned for design verification work where a engineer needs to characterize how a power source responds under controlled load — testing battery discharge profiles, validating power supply regulation, characterizing solar panel I-V curves, and verifying LED driver behavior. The datasheet also identifies wide-bandgap semiconductor component characterization, including MOSFET and IGBT devices, as a target application for these instruments.
Keysight Technologies traces its test and measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard, which built its T&M business beginning in 1939. HP separated its test and measurement, semiconductor products, and chemical analysis businesses as Agilent Technologies in 1999. In 2014, Agilent further separated its electronic measurement business as Keysight Technologies, while Agilent retained the life sciences and chemical analysis instruments. Today's Keysight is the direct corporate continuation of HP's electronic measurement engineering lineage.
The EL30000 Series comprises three bench DC electronic loads sharing a common 150 V input voltage rating, common 4.3-inch color display, common four-mode operation (CC/CV/CR/CP), and common feature set including scope view, data logger, sequencer, and remote interfaces. The three models differ in input current capability, power capability, and channel count — allowing a Test Architect to match the load to the device-under-test power profile without changing instrument architecture between projects.
All three models share identical CC/CV/CR/CP programming and readback accuracy at their respective ranges, identical 200 kHz scope digitization, identical 20 µs to 60 s data logging granularity, and identical LAN/USB/optional-GPIB connectivity. The choice between models is driven primarily by current capability, total power, and whether single-DUT or dual-DUT operation is required.

The EL33133A is the entry point to the series at 250 W and 40 A — appropriate for lower-current DUTs where the 40 A ceiling provides adequate margin. Worth noting from the datasheet: the EL33133A is available only through Keysight's Buy Online store in the US and Canada per the ordering information section.
The EL34143A increases capability to 60 A and 350 W in the same single-input form factor, and the EL34243A delivers two independently-isolated 60 A / 300 W inputs (600 W total) with the option to parallel both inputs for 120 A / 600 W single-DUT delivery. The comparison table below summarizes the input ratings, power capability, and channel count across the family — the per-model specification tables on each product page provide the full programming accuracy, readback accuracy, slew rate, and protection detail.
