The Keysight E5061B is an ENA-series vector network analyzer that characterizes the magnitude and phase of the reflection and transmission (S-parameter) response of components and networks. It spans 100 kHz to 1.5 GHz or 3 GHz in its RF network analyzer configurations, and from 5 Hz up to 500 MHz, 1.5 GHz, or 3 GHz in its LF-RF configurations, addressing both low-frequency and RF measurement needs in a single bench instrument.

As a vector network analyzer, the E5061B measures S-parameters and converts them into related quantities including reflection and transmission impedance, reflection and transmission admittance, and 1/S. Beyond standard S-parameter work, the LF-RF configurations add gain-phase measurement, and option-based capabilities extend the instrument to impedance measurement and equivalent-circuit analysis (Option 005), wireless power transfer circuit evaluation with 2D/3D simulation (Option 006), and fault location with time-domain transformation (Option 010).

Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies traces its test-and-measurement heritage to Hewlett-Packard, whose instrument business was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999. Agilent's electronic measurement division was then established as Keysight Technologies in 2014, the brand under which this analyzer is produced today.

The clearest differences across the family are frequency coverage and system impedance — the 1.5 GHz versus 3 GHz tiers, 50 Ω versus 75 Ω system impedance, and the LF-RF options that begin at 5 Hz. Measurement capability also varies by configuration: transmission/reflection test sets (Options 115, 135, 117, 137) measure S11, S21, and absolute power, while S-parameter test sets (Options 215, 235, 237) add S12 and S22.
