The HP E3631A is a triple-output programmable DC power supply built to meet exacting engineering requirements with the quality and reliability HP designed into the line. Alongside it, the HP E3632A (120 W) and the HP E3633A and E3634A (200 W) are single-output, dual-range programmable DC supplies engineered to deliver reliable, high-quality operation at an attractive price. Together the four instruments form a family spanning 80 W to 200 W of output power, covering single- and multiple-output needs from one consistent control and programming platform.

A programmable DC power supply delivers controlled, adjustable DC voltage and current to a device under test, serving as the stimulus source on the bench and in automated test racks. Across this family the low normal-mode voltage noise specification assures clean power for precision circuitry, while the low common-mode current provides isolation from power-line current injection. On the triple-output E3631A, the 6 V supply is isolated from the ±25 V supply to minimize interference between separate circuits under test.

Every used supply is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer — so you work with a company that actually handles its inventory rather than forwarding your order to a distant third party.

Brand Heritage

This product line carries the HP (Hewlett-Packard) brand. In 1999, Hewlett-Packard spun off its test-and-measurement business as Agilent Technologies, and in 2014 that electronic measurement business was established as Keysight Technologies. Instruments originally sold under the HP name therefore trace their corporate lineage through Agilent to Keysight.

Compare Other Models in This Series

This family pairs one triple-output instrument with three single-output, dual-range instruments under a common front-panel and programming design. The E3631A is the triple-output member at 80 W; the E3632A is a single-output, dual-range supply rated 105/120 W; and the E3633A and E3634A are single-output, dual-range supplies rated 160/200 W.

All four share the same linear-supply fundamentals — better-than-0.01% load and line regulation, low normal-mode and common-mode noise, a vacuum fluorescent display, and standard GPIB and RS-232 control. They differ principally in output topology, voltage and current ranges, and total power, as the comparison table below details.

Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with pre-owned-condition pricing matched to that listing. Select the model whose output configuration fits your application, then choose the available condition and configuration on that model's page.

The E3631A is the family's triple-output member, supplying 6 V at 5 A together with isolated +25 V and –25 V outputs at 1 A each, and adding dual voltage and current meters on the front panel. Its 6 V supply is isolated from the ±25 V supply to minimize interference between separate circuits under test.

Output configuration is the primary divider. The E3631A provides three simultaneous outputs (6 V/5 A and ±25 V/1 A) for 80 W. The single-output models each offer two selectable ranges: the E3632A covers 15 V/7 A or 30 V/4 A, the E3633A covers 8 V/20 A or 20 V/10 A, and the E3634A covers 25 V/7 A or 50 V/4 A.

Beyond ranges, the single-output E3632A, E3633A, and E3634A provide remote sense, OVP and OCP, and 16-bit programming resolution, and the E3633A and E3634A add both front and rear output terminals. Consult the comparison table for the per-model voltage, current, regulation, accuracy, and resolution figures.

Model Output Voltage Output Current Output Power
E3631A +25 V, -25 V, 6 V 1 A, 1 A, 5 A 80 W
E3632A 0-15 V / 0-30 V 7 A / 4 A 120 W
E3633A 0-8 V / 0-20 V 20 A / 10 A 200 W
E3634A 0-25 V / 0-50 V 7 A / 4 A 200 W
