The Agilent E1412A is a 6.5-digit high-accuracy multimeter packaged as a C-size, 1-slot, message-based VXI module. It is electrically identical to the E1312A, differing only in mechanical size, and delivers the widest functionality in Agilent's DMM line at price points comparable to 5.5-digit instruments. The module supports a complete set of measurement functions including DC and AC voltage, DC and AC current, 2-wire and 4-wire resistance, frequency, and period.

The E1412A serves automated test system applications requiring high measurement throughput combined with precision. Its capabilities include limit checks that drive a TTL output for pass/fail testing, DC voltage ratio measurements, and on-board math operations such as NULL, MIN/MAX, LIMIT, dB, and dBm. Reading storage with internal memory supports buffered acquisition for high-speed test sequences without backplane bottlenecks during capture.

ValueTronics International operates from a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where every unit in our catalog is stored, inspected, and performance-tested by technicians before shipment. We hold inventory we sell rather than drop-ship from third parties, which means the E1412A you order is the unit our team verified against the datasheet specifications above. Buyers acquiring VXI instrumentation for system integration work need predictable lead times and accurate condition reporting, and our in-house testing process is designed to deliver both.

Brand Heritage

Agilent Technologies was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999 as the company's test and measurement business. In 2014, Agilent divided again, with the electronic measurement business becoming Keysight Technologies. Agilent-branded T&M instruments such as the E1412A are part of this lineage, and calibration and service for these instruments now routes through Keysight infrastructure.

Important: Maximum input is 300 V on all DCV ranges. Input protection on the DC current function uses an externally accessible 3 A, 250 V fuse.Important: The E1412A is a VXI module and requires a compatible VXI mainframe for operation; mainframe is not included.Important: Errors will occur when attempting to measure the frequency or period of an input following a dc offset voltage change. The input blocking RC time constant must be allowed to fully settle (up to 1 s) before the most accurate measurements are possible.Important: Agilent recommends the use of Teflon or other high impedance, low-dielectric absorption wire insulation for dc measurements.Important: All frequency counters are susceptible to error when measuring low-voltage, low-frequency signals. Shielding inputs from external noise pickup is critical for minimizing measurement errors.
