The Agilent 6000 Series Oscilloscope is a family of high-performance portable mixed-signal and digital storage oscilloscopes spanning 100 MHz to 1 GHz bandwidths, available in 2-channel and 4-channel configurations with optional 16 digital channels on MSO variants. Built around the third-generation MegaZoom III memory and display architecture, the 6000 Series combines responsive deep memory, fast waveform update rates, and a high-definition XGA display in a compact bench form factor.
The 6000 Series is positioned for engineers debugging mixed analog, digital, and serial designs. Application areas described for the family include general analog and digital circuit debug, embedded systems work using serial buses such as I2C and SPI, automotive serial bus debug on CAN, LIN, and FlexRay, USB protocol analysis, FPGA debug with Altera and Xilinx devices via dynamic probe options, and analog HDTV/EDTV video triggering on standards including 1080i, 1080p, 720p, and 480p as well as NTSC, SECAM, PAL, and PAL-M.
ValueTronics stocks and supports Agilent 6000 Series oscilloscopes from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where every {{CONDITION}} unit is handled by our own team rather than passed through a drop-ship channel. With more than three decades of test and measurement experience, we maintain inventory across the full 6000 Series range and provide direct, knowledgeable support for sellers integrating these scopes into existing benches, automated test racks, or service workflows.
Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999, and Agilent's electronic measurement business was subsequently transferred to Keysight Technologies in 2014. The 6000 Series was introduced under the Agilent brand and is part of the broader oscilloscope product lineage that continued under Keysight.
The Agilent 6000 Series is organized as a 16-model family spanning four bandwidth tiers (100 MHz, 300 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1 GHz) crossed with channel-count configurations (2-channel or 4-channel) and acquisition type (DSO for analog-only, MSO for analog plus 16 digital channels). Every model in the series shares the same MegaZoom III memory and display architecture, the same connectivity stack, and the same upgrade path — a DSO can be field-upgraded to an MSO via a logic cable kit and license, and standard 2 Mpts memory can be expanded to 8 Mpts.
Within the family, bandwidth tier drives both maximum sample rate and probe compatibility. The 100 MHz and 300 MHz models share a 2 GSa/s maximum sample rate and a different recommended passive probe (10074C included on 100 MHz models, 10073C on 300 MHz through 1 GHz models), while the 500 MHz and 1 GHz models share the 4 GSa/s sample rate and add full compatibility with the AutoProbe active probe ecosystem.
Each pre-owned 6000 Series model listed in the comparison table below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing and inventory. Use the comparison to identify the bandwidth tier, channel count, and acquisition type that match your application, then navigate to the specific model page for current availability.
The four bandwidth tiers within the 6000 Series — 100 MHz, 300 MHz, 500 MHz, and 1 GHz — determine the highest-frequency signal the instrument can accurately measure and set the maximum sample rate ceiling. The 100 MHz and 300 MHz tiers operate at 2 GSa/s, while the 500 MHz and 1 GHz tiers move to 4 GSa/s (with half-channel operation noted on the top tier). Peak-detect resolution also scales with tier, from 1 ns at 100 MHz down to 250 ps at 500 MHz and 1 GHz.
Within each bandwidth tier, the choice between 2-channel and 4-channel models, and between DSO and MSO variants, determines how many signals can be observed and triggered on simultaneously. MSO variants add 16 digital channels and mixed-signal trigger capability across the analog and digital domains, and the advanced serial decode options (CAN/LIN, FlexRay, and I2C/SPI in some configurations) are listed as available on 4-channel and 4+16 channel models. The comparison table below summarizes bandwidth, sample rate, memory, channel count, and digital channel availability across the family.
