The Tektronix DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series is a family of digital and mixed signal oscilloscopes built to support engineers throughout the design cycle, from prototype turn-on through production testing. The series combines high signal-acquisition performance with extensive analysis capability to accelerate measurement tasks on demanding high-speed designs. It spans three closely related configurations — the DPO70000 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes, the DSA70000 Digital Serial Analyzers, and the MSO70000 Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes — across a range of bandwidth tiers.
These instruments are applied to design verification including signal integrity, jitter, and timing analysis; design characterization for high-speed, sophisticated designs; and certification testing of serial data streams against industry standards. Additional listed uses include memory bus analysis and debug, prototype turn-on and power supply verification, research and investigation of transient phenomena, production testing of complex systems, spectral analysis of transient or wide-bandwidth RF signals, and overall system turn-on and verification. An oscilloscope captures voltage waveforms over time so an engineer can observe a signal's amplitude, timing, and shape; this series extends that core function to the highest-speed signals encountered in modern electronics.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where the company has served the test-and-measurement market since 1992. Every pre-owned instrument is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave factory-sealed exactly as received. Holding inventory directly lets our team match the right configuration to your application and answer condition and availability questions with firsthand knowledge.
Tektronix was founded in 1946 and operated independently for decades before being acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2007. In 2016 it became part of Fortive Corporation, the diversified technology company spun off from Danaher that year.
The DPO/DSA/MSO70000 Series is organized around three configurations that share a common analog front end and acquisition architecture. The DPO70000 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes emphasize fast waveform capture and signal fidelity; the DSA70000 Digital Serial Analyzers are specially configured for high-speed serial data designs, encapsulating serial-domain features as standard; and the MSO70000 Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes add 16 integrated logic channels to combine analog and digital debug in one instrument.
Within each configuration, models are distinguished primarily by analog bandwidth, which ranges across the series from 4 GHz to 33 GHz. Higher-bandwidth models add faster sample rates and additional record-length options, while every model provides four analog channels. The serial-analysis features that are standard on the DSA70000 and MSO70000 Series are offered as options on the DPO70000 Series.
Each model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the specific bandwidth and configuration you need, then choose the pre-owned listing for that model to see its current availability and price.
The models differ first by analog bandwidth — 4, 6, 8, 12.5, 16, 20, 25, and 33 GHz tiers across the series. Sample rate tracks the bandwidth tier: the 4, 6, and 8 GHz models sample at 25 GS/s on all channels, while the 12.5 GHz through 33 GHz models reach 100 GS/s on two channels and 50 GS/s on all four. Standard record length is 10 MS per channel on the DPO70000 Series and 31.25 MS on the DSA70000 and MSO70000 Series, with optional memory up to 125 MS or 250 MS depending on the bandwidth tier.
Configuration also sets the feature baseline: the MSO70000 models carry 16 logic channels for mixed-signal work, whereas the DPO70000 and DSA70000 models are four-channel analog instruments. Serial pattern triggering, DPOJET jitter and eye analysis, and related serial features are standard on the DSA70000 and MSO70000 Series and optional on the DPO70000 Series. Refer to the comparison table that follows for each model's bandwidth, sample rate, standard memory, and channel count.
| Model | Bandwidth | Sample Rate (1/2 Ch) | Standard Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| DSA72504D | 25 GHz (2 Ch), 23 GHz (4 Ch) | 100 GS/s | 31.25 MS |
| DPO70404C | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 10 MS |
| DSA70404C | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 31.25 MS |
| MSO70404C | 4 GHz | 25 GS/s | 31.25 MS |

Important: 1 MΩ input resistance requires the TCA-1MEG TekConnect adapter; standard input resistance is 50 Ω.
Important: Oscilloscope probes are not included in the standard accessories (only TekConnect adapters are supplied); appropriate TriMode, logic, differential, current, or high-voltage probes must be ordered separately. See the datasheet's Recommended Accessories section (e.g., P7600/P7500 Series TriMode probes; P6780/P6750/P6717A logic probes for MSO models).
Important: On the DPO70000 Series, serial pattern triggering and protocol decode with built-in clock recovery is not standard — it requires Option ST6G (it comes standard on the DSA70000 and MSO70000 Series).
Important: Logic channels and 16-channel digital acquisition (with iCapture) are available only on the MSO70000 Series; the DPO70000 and DSA70000 Series have no logic channels.
Important: Maximum input voltage (50 Ω) differs by model: 1.2 VRMS on 25 GHz and 33 GHz models versus <5.0 VRMS (≥100 mV/div) / 1.0 VRMS (<100 mV/div) on all other models — observe the limit for the specific model before connecting.
Recommended pairing: the P7600 and P7500 Series TriMode probes provide signal connectivity matched to this series, and MSO70000 configurations pair with the P6780, P6750, and P6717A logic probes.
