The RIGOL MSO/DS4000 Series is a family of digital oscilloscopes positioned as a mainstream platform built on innovative UltraVision technology. The DS4000 models are digital storage oscilloscopes with 2 or 4 analog channels, while the MSO4000 models add 16 digital channels in a 2+16 or 4+16 configuration, targeting the embedded design and test market with high-performance specifications, powerful trigger functions, and broad analysis capabilities.
An oscilloscope in this category captures voltage waveforms over time and renders them on screen so an engineer can see a signal's amplitude, frequency, timing, and shape. The MSO/DS4000 Series is aimed at the embedded design and test market, where the MSO models combine analog and digital channels for mixed-signal analysis with time-correlated display of both analog and digital waveforms.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, so the instruments we list are on hand and ready to ship. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it leaves our facility, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
The MSO/DS4000 Series comprises eight digital storage oscilloscope models (DS4000) and eight mixed-signal models (MSO4000) that share a common platform and differ primarily in analog bandwidth and analog channel count. The DS4000 models offer 2 or 4 analog channels, and the MSO4000 models add 16 digital channels to the same analog front end, extending the platform into mixed-signal embedded work.
Across the family the core acquisition system is consistent: a 4 GSa/s interleaved analog sample rate, 140 Mpts standard memory depth, UltraVision technology, and a 9-inch 256-level grading display. The principal selection variables are therefore bandwidth tier (100, 200, 350, or 500 MHz), analog channel count, and whether the 16 digital channels of the MSO variants are required.
Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing for the pre-owned configuration you select. Choose the bandwidth, channel count, and DS-or-MSO variant that fits your application, then review that specific model's specifications and pricing on its page.
The models differ along three axes the series defines: analog bandwidth (100 MHz, 200 MHz, 350 MHz, or 500 MHz), analog channel count (2 or 4), and the presence of 16 digital channels on the MSO variants. Calculated rise time and minimum time-base scale track the bandwidth tier; for example, the 500 MHz models specify a 700 ps calculated rise time and a 1 ns/div minimum time base, while lower-bandwidth models specify proportionally longer rise times. The 200 MHz and 350 MHz models can be upgraded in the field through bandwidth update options.
Refer to the comparison table for the exact bandwidth, channel count, sample rate, and memory depth of each model. The digital-channel sample rate, memory depth, and capture-rate figures apply only to the MSO models, which carry 16 digital channels alongside their analog inputs.
