The Rigol DG4000 Series is a multifunctional generator that combines many functions in one, including a Function Generator, Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Pulse Generator, Harmonic Generator, Analog/Digital Modulator and Counter. All models in the series have two channels with complete equivalent functions and precisely adjustable phases, giving the operator two independent yet identically capable outputs from a single instrument.
A function/arbitrary waveform generator produces known, controllable test signals to stimulate a device under test. The DG4000 series carries this out through a broad function set: two equivalent channels with adjustable phase, abundant analog and digital modulation, noise and burst modes, a standard high-resolution counter, a standard arbitrary waveform function with 150 built-in waveforms, various sweep modes, up to 16-order customized harmonic generation, and statistical analysis of the counter results.
ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000-square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.
The DG4000 series comprises four models — the DG4202, DG4162, DG4102 and DG4062 — that share a common architecture and differ primarily in maximum output frequency. All four are dual-channel instruments with complete equivalent functions and precisely adjustable phases.
Every model in the series shares the 500 MSa/s sample rate, 14-bit vertical resolution, 150 built-in arbitrary waveforms, the standard counter, the up-to-16th-order harmonic generator and the full analog/digital modulation set. The differences between models are concentrated in the per-waveform frequency ceilings rather than in the feature set.
Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with pre-owned-condition-matched pricing. Select the maximum-frequency tier that matches your application, and refer to the comparison table that follows for the per-model specifications.
The DG4202 is the 200 MHz model of the series, with sine output to 200 MHz, square to 60 MHz, pulse to 50 MHz, harmonic to 100 MHz and arbitrary waveforms to 50 MHz.
The four models differ in their per-waveform frequency ceilings. Maximum sine output is 200 MHz on the DG4202, 160 MHz on the DG4162, 100 MHz on the DG4102 and 60 MHz on the DG4062, with the square, ramp, pulse, harmonic and arbitrary-waveform limits scaling down across the models accordingly.
Amplitude flatness and noise bandwidth also track the frequency tier of each model. See the comparison table for the exact per-model values across each waveform type.
| Model | Max Frequency | Max Square Freq | Max Pulse Freq |
|---|---|---|---|
| DG4162 | 160 MHz | 50 MHz | 40 MHz |

| DG4102 | 100 MHz | 40 MHz | 25 MHz |
| DG4062 | 60 MHz | 25 MHz | 15 MHz |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
