The Tektronix AWG7000B Series is a family of arbitrary waveform generators built to deliver a combination of signal stimulus capability, high sample rate, and bandwidth in an instrument designed for ease of use. The series targets engineers verifying, characterizing, and debugging sophisticated electronic designs, offering direct synthesis signal generation that produces a variety of outputs including multilevel, pre/de-emphasis, jitter (Rj, Pj, ISI, DCD), SSC, and wander elements. Sample rates span 6 GS/s to 24 GS/s with up to 10-bit resolution and one or two output channels.
The AWG7000B Series addresses a broad range of stimulus applications. In high-speed serial communications it serves as a binary data source at up to 12 Gb/s (2x oversampling, interleaved) or as a universal direct synthesis source at up to 8 Gb/s (3x oversampling, interleaved), and it can generate the three-level signals required for SATA Out-of-Band (OOB) testing. For wideband RF in communications and defense electronics, it provides direct RF output up to 9.6 GHz and ultra-wideband IQ/IF signal generation, including direct RF generation of all WiMedia band groups (BG1 to BG6). Additional applications include disk-drive magnetic and optical read/write testing at up to 6 Gb/s, and mixed-signal design and test using two analog channels plus four marker outputs.
ValueTronics stocks its test and measurement inventory directly from a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. That combination of real stock, real handling on used inventory, and direct accountability is what distinguishes a ValueTronics purchase from an anonymous listing.
Tektronix, Inc. operated for decades as an independent test and measurement manufacturer before being acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2007. In 2016, Tektronix became part of Fortive Corporation when Fortive was spun off from Danaher. The Tektronix brand has remained in continuous use throughout these corporate changes.
The AWG7000B Series comprises four arbitrary waveform generator models—the AWG7122B, AWG7121B, AWG7062B, and AWG7061B—that share a common architecture but differ in maximum sample rate and number of output channels. Across the family, sampling rates range from 6 GS/s to 24 GS/s (interleaved), and outputs are configured as either one or two arbitrary waveform channels.
Vertical resolution across the series is selectable as 10 bit (no marker output) or 8 bit with two marker outputs per channel. All four models share the same 32M-point standard record length, expandable to 64M points with Option 01, and the same 16,000-step sequencing engine.
Each pre-owned model linked below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the specific model and channel configuration your application requires; the comparison table that follows summarizes the differences across the series.
The AWG7122B is the two-channel, 12 GS/s model that supports Option 06 for interleaved output at 24 GS/s (which includes Option 02 high-bandwidth output). Configured with Option 06, it provides the series' 9.6 GHz effective RF frequency output, a 35 ps rise/fall time (20% to 80%), and total jitter of 20 ps peak-to-peak from 2 G to 12 Gb/s (typical, at 10⁻¹² BER).
The models divide along the two axes the series defines: sample rate and channel count. The AWG7122B and AWG7121B provide standard sampling up to 12 GS/s, while the AWG7062B and AWG7061B provide up to 6 GS/s. The AWG7122B and AWG7062B are two-channel models; the AWG7121B and AWG7061B are single-channel models.
Option suffixes further differentiate the family: Option 06 (interleaved 24 GS/s output, including Option 02) applies to the AWG7122B, while Option 02 (high-bandwidth output) applies to the AWG7121B. Option 01 expands waveform record length from 32M to 64M points on all four models. The comparison table below details these per-model differences.
| Model | Sample Rate | Outputs | Vertical Resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWG7122B | 12 GS/s (24 GS/s interleaved) | 2 | 8/10 bit |
| AWG7121B | 12 GS/s | 1 | 8/10 bit |
| AWG7062B | 6 GS/s | 2 | 8/10 bit |
| AWG7061B | 6 GS/s | 1 | 8/10 bit |
