The Ando AQ6317B is a high-accuracy, high-resolution optical spectrum analyzer built for evaluating dense wavelength-division-multiplexing (D-WDM) systems and components. It addresses a wide range of applications including light source evaluation, measurement of loss-wavelength characteristics in optical devices, and waveform analysis of WDM systems. The instrument achieves high wavelength accuracy and wavelength linearity in the C-band and L-band, suiting it to the evaluation of optical devices for WDM.

An optical spectrum analyzer resolves an optical signal into its component wavelengths and displays power as a function of wavelength, letting an engineer characterize the spectral content of light sources and optical components. The AQ6317B applies this to specific WDM tasks: optical multiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) evaluation, yielding insertion loss, passband central wavelength, and linearity; and optical fiber amplifier (EDFA) evaluation, where the ASE interpolation method measures gain and noise figure. It also provides analysis for LD, LED, and FBG devices.

ValueTronics stocks test and measurement equipment in its own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Because we hold inventory ourselves, every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

Brand Heritage

Ando Electric Co., Ltd. was acquired by Yokogawa Electric Corporation in 2002, and its optical test and measurement product line subsequently continued under the Yokogawa name.
