The Keysight AC6800B Series is a family of single-phase basic AC power sources designed to deliver stable, dependable AC power for bench and production-line testing. Available in models up to 4000 VA, each source provides 0 to 310 Vrms output and a 40 to 500 Hz frequency range, engineered to keep test systems running even when grid voltage fluctuates or the device under test draws extreme inrush current or transient spikes.

These sources are built for both manual control on an R&D bench and programmatic operation in a fully automated test rack. Typical uses include simulating global AC power conditions, testing varying frequency and voltage combinations to reproduce real-world conditions, and power factor correction testing and similar AC+DC applications such as examining ripple voltage on input circuitry. Example applications include testing universal power supplies designed to work globally, supplying single-phase 400 Hz power to check avionic electronics in development, manufacturing, and repair, and testing commercial LED drivers and fluorescent ballasts up to 310 VAC — suitable for electronics rated to 277 VAC ±10%.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois.

Brand Heritage

Compare Other Models in This Series

The AC6800B Series is a single-phase basic AC power source family spanning four models — the AC6801B, AC6802B, AC6803B, and AC6804B. All four share the same 0 to 310 Vrms output across 155 V and 310 V ranges and the same 40 to 500 Hz frequency range, while differing in maximum output power and current.

Every model in the series provides both AC and DC output modes, built-in voltage, current, and power measurements, and the same intuitive front-panel and programmatic interface. Models up to 4000 VA are available to cover a range of basic AC source requirements.

Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model that fits your power and current requirements to view the new unit and its current availability.

The primary differences across the series are output power and current. Maximum output power steps from 500 VA on the AC6801B to 1 kVA, 2 kVA, and 4 kVA on the AC6802B, AC6803B, and AC6804B, with maximum rms current on the 310 V range rising correspondingly from 2.5 A to 5 A, 10 A, and 20 A (and double those values on the 155 V range). See the comparison table for the per-model figures.

Physical dimensions, weight, and input terminal type also scale with power — for example, weight ranges from approximately 8 kg on the AC6801B to about 31 kg on the AC6804B, and a standard power cord is included with the AC6801B. Optional accessories such as the user-installable analog (AC68BALGU), inhibit (AC68BFIU), and GPIB (AC68GPBU) interface boards, along with rack-mount flange kits, apply across the series.

Model Output Power Max AC Current (Low/High Range) DC Power Capacity
AC6804B 4000 VA 40 A/20 A 3200 W
AC6801B 500 VA 5 A/2.5 A 400 W
AC6802B 1000 VA 10 A/5 A 800 W
AC6803B 2000 VA 20 A/10 A 1600 W

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.

Important: EMC compliance requires the ferrite core attached on the load wires for CE-marked models, with the maximum length of all connecting cables and wires to the unit kept under 3 m.
Important: AC68xx models will not be in compliance with EMC limits unless the ferrite core is attached on the load wires (applies only to models that have CE marking on the panel).
Important: A standard power cord is included only with the AC6801B; the AC6802B, AC6803B, and AC6804B do not include a power cord.
Important: The power cord supplied with the AC6801B is based on country of use (power cords for Continental Europe, United States/Canada, or China are included); for other countries an applicable power cord can be selected.
Important: Accuracy specifications are warranted over the ambient temperature range of 0 to 40 °C after a 30-minute warm-up period and apply at the output terminals; accuracy specifications are warranted for three years.
