The B&K Precision 9200B Series is a family of multi-range programmable DC power supplies designed to replace multiple conventional fixed-output supplies on a bench or in a rack. The series comprises four models: the 9201B (60 V, 10 A, 200 W), 9202B (60 V, 15 A, 360 W), 9205B (60 V, 25 A, 600 W), and 9206B (150 V, 10 A, 600 W). Unlike traditional supplies with rectangular output characteristics that deliver maximum power at only one V/A point, the 9200B Series automatically recalculates voltage and current limits at each setting to provide maximum output power across any V/A combination within rated limits.
These supplies are positioned by the manufacturer for production testing, R&D, electronic field service, and education. The multi-range output characteristic allows a single 9200B unit to cover application points that would otherwise require separate supplies — for example, the 9206B can operate at 150 V/4 A, 60 V/10 A, or any other point along its 600 W maximum power curve, consolidating bench inventory and freeing rack space.
B&K Precision Corporation is headquartered in Yorba Linda, California and has manufactured test and measurement instruments for more than 70 years. The company operates a French subsidiary, Sefram, based in St. Etienne, and a Taiwan operation, B+K Precision Taiwan, in Taipei. An independent service center, Dynamics Circuit, supports customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
The 9200B Series comprises four multi-range programmable DC supplies that share the same control interface, the same 1 mV / 0.1 mA programming and readback resolution, the same USB and RS232 remote interfaces, and the same half-rack chassis dimensions. Where they differ is in the output envelope: each model targets a different combination of maximum voltage, maximum current, and maximum power.
Three of the four models — the 9201B, 9202B, and 9205B — share a 0–60 V output range and differ in current and power capability (10 A / 200 W, 15 A / 360 W, and 25 A / 600 W respectively). The 9206B trades current headroom for voltage range: 0–150 V at 10 A maximum with the same 600 W envelope as the 9205B. Selecting the right model means matching the voltage and current operating points required by the device under test to the model's published maximum power curve.

Across the four models, voltage range is 0–60 V on the 9201B, 9202B, and 9205B, and 0–150 V on the 9206B. Current rating steps from 10 A (9201B and 9206B) through 15 A (9202B) to 25 A (9205B). Power rating steps from 200 W (9201B) through 360 W (9202B) to 600 W (9205B and 9206B). Ripple and noise specifications scale with output capability, ranging from ≤8 mVpp / ≤6 mArms on the 9201B to ≤50 mVpp / ≤15 mArms on the 9206B.
Line and load regulation, programming and readback accuracy offsets, and current-readback resolution also vary across models per the specification table — for example, the 9202B and 9205B switch from 0.1 mA to 1 mA current readback resolution above 10 A, while the 9201B holds 0.1 mA across its full range and the 9206B holds 0.1 mA across its full range.
