The Keysight 6811C is part of the 6800C Series AC Power Source/Analyzers, a family of single-phase instruments rated from 375 VA to 1750 VA that combine the functions of an AC power source, arbitrary waveform generator, and integrated power analyzer in one chassis. The 6800C Series is positioned by Keysight as a complete AC power test solution, capable of producing AC waveforms, distorted power waveforms, and DC power either standalone or as a DC offset on an AC waveform.
Keysight identifies four primary application categories for the 6800C Series: static testing (generating and measuring voltage, frequency, and line current for worldwide specifications), dynamic testing (generating AC line transients for limit testing and design verification), specialty testing (measuring current harmonic content and creating custom AC+DC waveforms such as a telephone ring simulation), and precompliance regulatory testing (measuring current harmonics, voltage fluctuations and flicker emissions, and generating voltage/frequency disturbances and interharmonics for product immunity work). Listed industries include avionics, computer products, consumer products, electrical products, lighting products, motors, power products, and telecom products.
Keysight Technologies was formed in 2014 as the spin-off of Agilent Technologies' electronic measurement business, which itself was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999. The 6800C Series carries forward an AC source/analyzer product line whose model numbering and core architecture have been continuously supported across the HP, Agilent, and Keysight eras.
The Keysight 6800C Series consists of three single-phase AC power source/analyzer models — the 6811C, 6812C, and 6813C — that share a common architecture, measurement capability, and feature set. All three combine an AC power source, arbitrary waveform generator, and integrated power analyzer in one 3U chassis, and all three share the same output frequency range (DC, 45 Hz to 1 kHz), programmable output impedance, 16-bit measurement precision, and standard LXI-LAN/USB/GPIB connectivity.
The models differ primarily in output power, RMS current capacity, peak current capability, and DC output ratings. Keysight positions the family as covering AC test requirements from 375 VA at the lower end up through 1750 VA at the upper end, with all three models sharing the same 300 V RMS output voltage ceiling and the same DC voltage capability of ±425 V.

Within the 6800C family, the 6811C is the 375 VA model and is distinguished by its crest factor specification of 12 — twice the crest factor of the 6812C and 6813C, both of which are rated at 6. Per the datasheet, the 6811C delivers 3.25 A RMS, 40 A peak current, 285 W DC, and 2.5 A DC. It is also offered with the same Option 020 dual power analyzer and the same I/O connectivity as the larger family members.
The three models scale by output power: the 6811C at 375 VA / 3.25 A RMS, the 6812C at 750 VA / 6.5 A RMS, and the 6813C at 1750 VA / 13 A RMS. Peak current also scales — 40 A on the 6811C and 6812C, 80 A on the 6813C. DC current capability follows the same scaling: 2.5 A, 5.0 A, and 10.0 A respectively. The 6811C is the only model in the family with a crest factor specification of 12 (vs. 6 on the 6812C and 6813C), which can be relevant for applications involving very high peak-to-RMS current ratios at lower steady-state currents.
Option availability also differs across the family per the datasheet's ordering information: Option 019 (raise output to 2000 VA, reduce frequency to 100 Hz) is available only on the 6813C; Option 026 (add auxiliary 26 V, 0.1 A, 45 to 100 Hz output) is available on the 6812C and 6813C but not the 6811C; Option 020 (dual power analyzer) is available across all three models. Options 019, 020, and 026 are mutually exclusive. The comparison table below summarizes the headline ratings for each model side by side.
