The Keysight 66000A is a 1200 W DC modular power system built on a 7-inch-high (4-EIA-unit) mainframe that accepts up to eight DC power modules. It is designed for ATE and production-test environments where bias power and stimulus must be supplied to subassemblies and final products from a single rack-efficient chassis. A power supply provides controlled DC power to a device under test at a specified voltage and current — the 66000A extends that fundamental role into a multi-channel, programmable, modular platform that scales with the test station.
According to the datasheet, the 66000A is intended for ATE and production-test applications, supplying bias power and stimulus to subassemblies and final products. The output sequencing feature is positioned for increasing test throughput by downloading up to 20 voltage, current, and dwell-time parameter sets per output and executing those sequences without controller intervention. The datasheet also notes that one 66000A mainframe can be connected with up to eight 6640, 6650, 6670, 6680, 6690, or 6030 series system power supplies through the serial link, providing power ranges from 150 watts to 5000 watts at one primary GPIB address.
ValueTronics International stocks and tests modular power systems and DC power supplies from our 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Mainframes and individual power modules are inspected, electrically verified, and graded by our own technicians before shipment — not drop-shipped from a third party. Calibration documentation can be added to any order during ordering. The combination of in-house inventory, in-house testing, and a named contact who knows the equipment is what separates a ValueTronics order from a marketplace transaction.
The 66000A originated within Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business, which was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999 and then divided again in 2014, with the electronic measurement product lines becoming Keysight Technologies. Instruments in this family may carry HP, Agilent, or Keysight branding depending on manufacture date; all three brands trace to the same engineering lineage and product continuity is maintained under Keysight today.
The 66000A is the 1200 W, 8-slot GPIB mainframe at the center of Keysight's 66000-series modular power system. The mainframe itself is a single model; the family character of the platform comes from the module catalog (66101A through 66106A) and the special-order J-option variants that populate the eight slots according to the application's voltage, current, and channel-count requirements.
Module selection is the primary configuration decision. Modules differ in output voltage range (8 V through 200 V) and output current (0.75 A through 16 A), with each module rated up to 150 W (the 66101A is the exception at 128 W). The mainframe, sequencing engine, GPIB interface, protection features, and mechanical envelope are common to every configuration.
Each pre-owned 66000A mainframe and module listed below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Mainframes and modules are typically sold separately so the channel count and module mix can be matched to the application — confirm the populated module configuration on each specific listing.
The 66000A is the standard 1200 W, 8-slot mainframe in the 66000 modular power system. Where Keysight's discrete benchtop and rack supplies deliver a fixed voltage/current envelope per chassis, the 66000A is a slot-based platform — the chassis specification is the slot count, the total power budget, and the GPIB/sequencing infrastructure, and the deliverable output ratings are set by which modules occupy the slots.
Within the 66000A populated configurations, modules differ along three axes: output voltage range, output current rating, and the resulting maximum power per slot. The 66101A (0–8 V at 16 A, 128 W) is the high-current low-voltage module; the 66106A (0–200 V at 0.75 A, 150 W) is the high-voltage low-current module. The 66102A, 66103A, 66104A, and 66105A occupy the intermediate range at 20 V/7.5 A, 35 V/4.5 A, 60 V/2.5 A, and 120 V/1.25 A respectively, each at 150 W.
Programming and readback accuracy specifications scale with each module's voltage range — the 0.03% programming and 0.02% readback percentages are constant, but the fixed-offset terms (in mV and mA) grow with the module's full-scale range. The comparison table that follows lists the headline output ratings and accuracy offsets module-by-module. Special-order J-option variants (66101-J03, 66101-J05, 66103-J01, 66103A-J02, 66103A-J09, 66103A-J12, 66104A-J09, 66105A-J01) target specific output combinations not covered by the standard catalog modules.
