The Chroma 62000E Series is a family of programmable DC power supplies engineered for laboratory benches and automated test system integration. The series spans 28 models covering single-channel outputs of 1.7kW, 3.4kW, and 5kW, as well as three-channel configurations delivering 1.7kW per channel within a 1U chassis. Voltage ratings range up to 1200V and current ratings up to 22.5A, with both fixed-range and auto-range output options selectable per application.

The 62000E Series is positioned by Chroma for a wide range of single- and multi-channel test applications. The datasheet lists specific applications including electric vehicles component testing, semiconductor testing and burn-in, medical equipment power supply, aerospace and aviation testing, test and measurement ATE and manufacturing, industrial and system integrated power supply, and equipment manufacturing and system integration. Additional listed applications cover simulation for aviation, aerospace and satellite systems, and burn-in and processing for active/passive components, D2D modules, batteries, accelerator magnets, and evaporation heating sources.

ValueTronics is an authorized Chroma distribution partner, and we stock and ship the 62000E Series from our 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every unit we ship — whether sourced new from the factory or pre-owned through our acquisition channels — passes through hands-on technical evaluation by our in-house staff before it leaves the building. This is the practical difference between buying from ValueTronics and buying from a drop-shipper or pass-through broker: when you receive a 62000E Series supply from us, our team has physically handled it, verified its configuration matches what you ordered, and confirmed it is ready to deploy on your bench or in your test rack.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The 62000E Series is a 28-model programmable DC power supply family that spans three power tiers — 1.7kW, 3.4kW, and 5kW — across both single-channel and three-channel configurations. Within each power tier, Chroma offers fixed-range output models and auto-range output models, with voltage ratings extending from 230V to 1200V depending on the specific model.

All models in the series share the same 1U chassis form factor, the same TFT color touch panel control interface, the same standard LAN and USB remote interfaces, the same auto-sequence programming engine with 100 steps and 10ms–65535s dwell time, and the same CV/CC mode priority architecture. The differences between models lie in maximum voltage, maximum current, total output power, output channel count, and whether the output operates as a fixed or auto-ranging envelope.

Each new 62000E Series model listed below has its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Selecting the right model starts with the voltage, current, and power envelope your device under test requires, the channel count your bench or system needs, and whether your application benefits from auto-range flexibility or fixed-range cost efficiency.

The primary differentiators across the family are the power tier (1.7kW, 3.4kW, or 5kW), the maximum voltage (230V, 300V, 450V, 600V, 800V, 1000V, or 1200V), the maximum current (which scales with voltage to maintain the rated power envelope), the channel count (1 or 3), and the output topology (fixed-range or auto-range, indicated by the 'P' suffix on auto-range models). For example, the 62050E-600 is a 5kW single-channel fixed-range model rated 0–600V at 0–10A, while the 62050E-600P is a 5kW single-channel auto-range model rated 0–600V at 0–22.5A within the same 5kW envelope.

The three-channel models (suffix '-3') are limited to the 1.7kW tier and are not available with series or parallel master/slave operation per the datasheet. Series operation across the single-channel 230V–600V models supports up to two units. Parallel operation is available on all single-channel models up to four units, with the 800V–1200V models supporting parallel only and not series. Refer to the comparison table that follows for the per-model specifications including voltage, current, power, channel count, efficiency, ripple, and noise.

Model Output Voltage Output Current Output Power
62050E-1200P 0-1200 V 0-7.5 A 5000 W
62017E-230-3 0-230 V 0-7.5 A 1700 W
62017E-300-3 0-300 V 0-6.8 A 1700 W
62017E-450-3 0-450 V 0-4.5 A 1700 W

Important: Master/slave parallel and series functions work only between units of the same model, and each participating unit must be equipped with the A620042 master/slave control interface card. Series operation is not available on three-channel models or on 800V/1000V/1200V/1200P single-channel models per the datasheet's compatibility table.Important: Please specify the AC input voltage range for 3.4kW / 5kW / 1.7kW x 3CH models at time of order (factory installation).Important: When input voltage is <200 Vac, output power derates to 85%. Operating temperature 41-50 deg C also derates output power to 85%.Important: Master/slave series and parallel functions work only between units of the same model. The 3-channel (3CH) models do not support series or parallel operation.Important: Each single unit used in a master/slave parallel or series configuration must be equipped with the optional A620042 Master/Slave control interface card.Important: Only one of the four optional interface cards (A620040 GPIB, A620041 APG single-channel, A620042 Master/Slave, A620043 APG 3-channel, A620044 CAN FD/RS232) can be installed in a power supply at a time.Important: Rack mounting kit is optional and not included with the base unit.Important: All specifications are subject to change without notice.
