The B&K Precision 4060B Series is a family of dual-channel function and arbitrary waveform generators capable of producing precise sine, square, triangle, pulse, and arbitrary waveforms. The series combines DDS and true point-by-point arbitrary architectures in a single instrument, allowing the operator to select the architecture that best matches the signal fidelity, jitter, and distortion requirements of the application. Three models cover sine frequency ranges from 1 µHz up to 40 MHz (4062B), 80 MHz (4063B), and 120 MHz (4064B), with square and pulse outputs to 25 MHz across the family.

Typical applications follow directly from the instrument's stated capabilities: generating standard waveforms (sine, square, triangle, ramp, pulse, noise) for general bench stimulus, producing user-defined arbitrary waveforms loaded from the included editing software or via LabVIEW driver, applying modulation (AM, DSB-AM, FM, PM, PSK, FSK, ASK, PWM) to a carrier signal, running linear or logarithmic sweeps, and generating burst sequences from one to one million cycles. The built-in frequency counter (100 mHz to 200 MHz) and harmonic generator (to the 16th order with independent amplitude and phase) extend the instrument's utility beyond simple waveform generation.

ValueTronics International, LLC stocks and services test and measurement instruments from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Every unit listed for sale is held in our own facility — not drop-shipped from a third party — and is processed through our inspection and verification workflow before it leaves the building. That physical control over inventory is what allows us to commit to condition descriptions, ship timelines, and warranty terms that pass-through brokers and online marketplace sellers cannot match.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The 4060B Series consists of three models that share an identical feature set, output architecture, and instrument platform, differing only in the maximum sine frequency the instrument can generate. Square wave, pulse, triangle/ramp, noise, and arbitrary waveform frequency ranges are identical across all three models, as are the modulation types, sweep and burst capabilities, channel count, memory depth, vertical resolution, connectivity, and physical dimensions.

This means the model selection conversation is straightforward: identify the highest sine frequency the application requires, then select the model whose sine range covers that requirement with appropriate margin. Engineers working purely with square, pulse, or arbitrary signals below 25 MHz have full equivalence across the three models on those functions.

Each new 4060B Series model below is listed on its own product page with condition-matched pricing and a full description of what is included in the box. Select the model that matches your sine frequency requirement to view its current availability and specifications.

The only specification that differs across the family is the upper limit of the sine waveform frequency range: the 4062B generates sine waves from 1 µHz to 40 MHz, the 4063B to 80 MHz, and the 4064B to 120 MHz. The 4064B model is identified on its front panel as the 120 MHz Dual Channel Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator.

Square wave and pulse outputs are rated to 25 MHz on all three models. Triangle and ramp outputs are rated to 1 MHz on all three. Arbitrary waveform output is rated to 20 MHz on all three. The comparison table below reflects these distinctions: choose by the sine frequency requirement, with the understanding that the rest of the instrument behaves identically.

Model Sine Frequency Range Square Frequency Range Channels
4063B 1 µHz to 80 MHz 1 µHz to 25 MHz 2
4062B 1 µHz to 40 MHz 1 µHz to 25 MHz 2
4064B 1 µHz to 120 MHz 1 µHz to 25 MHz 2

Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
