The HP 35677A and HP 35677B are S-parameter test sets that operate from 100 kHz to 200 MHz. The HP 35677A is configured for 50Ω systems and the HP 35677B is configured for 75Ω systems. It is configured with 50Ω test ports and is the appropriate choice when the device under test and the rest of the measurement chain are also in a 50Ω environment, which is the most common impedance choice for general RF work in this frequency range.

The most significant difference between the HP 35677A and HP 35677B is the test port impedance: 50Ω on the HP 35677A and 75Ω on the HP 35677B. Specifications also vary in a few related parameters. Test port match is greater than 26 dB on the HP 35677A and greater than 24 dB on the HP 35677B. Insertion loss from RF input to test port 1 or 2 is typically 13 dB on the HP 35677A and 19 dB on the HP 35677B, and insertion loss from RF input to output ports A, B, or R is typically 19 dB on the HP 35677A and 31 dB on the HP 35677B.
