The Keysight 33502A is a dual-channel isolated amplifier designed to extend the output capability of function and arbitrary waveform generators. It provides a fixed non-inverting gain of 5x with up to ±25 Vpk (50 Vpp) output per channel, paired with a fully isolated analog front end that floats ±42 Vpk relative to earth ground. The 33502A is positioned as a companion instrument for function generators where higher voltage output and low distortion are both required from the same signal path.
Per the datasheet, the 33502A is compatible with existing Keysight function/arbitrary waveform generators including the 33120A, 33210A, 33220A, and 33250A, and can also amplify signals from non-Keysight function and arbitrary waveform generators. The instrument is intended for applications where a generator's native output range is insufficient for the device under test, and where signal fidelity through the amplification stage matters — for example, when driving loads that require higher voltage swing while preserving the waveform integrity of the source generator.
Keysight Technologies was formed in 2014 as a spin-off from Agilent Technologies, which itself was spun off from Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business in 1999. Instruments in the Keysight 335xx function generator and amplifier product family — including the 33502A — carry the engineering lineage of the HP and Agilent function/arbitrary waveform generator product lines that preceded them.
