The B&K Precision 1823A is a 2.4 GHz universal frequency counter built around a reciprocal counting architecture and microprocessor control. It measures frequency from 0.1 Hz up to 2.4 GHz, and the LED display provides eight digits of resolution when the internal 10 s gate time is used. The instrument is positioned for scientists, engineers, experimenters, and communications technicians who need a single benchtop counter that spans audio through low-microwave frequencies.
A frequency counter answers a specific question on the bench: what is the precise frequency, period, or timing relationship of this signal? The 1823A handles that question across five measurement functions — frequency, period, time interval, totalize, and frequency ratio — making it useful for characterizing oscillators, clock sources, signal generators, transmitters, and the timing of digital and RF circuits.
