The Advantest R3261/3361 Series is a family of compact, lightweight spectrum analyzers built on a synthesized system to cover wide frequency bands of 9 kHz to 2.6 GHz (R3261C/3261CN/3361C/3361CN) or 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz (R3261D/3361D). Advantest's long experience in RF technology combined with software calibration technology yields a total level accuracy of 1 dB (typical value), enabling accurate level measurements without linearity error from IF-stage log amp or RBW switching.
These analyzers address occupied bandwidth measurement, adjacent channel leakage power measurement, and intermittent (burst) signal measurement. A unique sound monitor mode, together with a marker pause function, allows sound to be monitored during panoramic reception measurements when measuring electric field strength or doing EMC measurements. The manual sweep function is suited to QP and EMC work, where the peak QP value can be measured quickly and then only a point specified by the rotary knob is measured. The series has been used by NHK (Japanese broadcaster) and the Defense Agency.
ValueTronics International stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding inventory directly means quicker access to instruments like the R3261/3361 Series and a single accountable source for the purchase.
Advantest Corporation traces its origins to Takeda Riken, the Japanese instrument maker that adopted the Advantest name in 1985. The company has continued under the Advantest name since.
The R3261/3361 Series lets a buyer choose from six models depending upon the application. All share the same portable, synthesized architecture, the 120 dB dynamic-range CRT display, 1 Hz frequency resolution, and standard GPIB and IC memory card functions, differing in frequency coverage, input impedance, and whether a tracking generator is built in.
The R3261 group is offered as spectrum analyzers, while the R3361 group adds an internal tracking generator for stimulus-response measurements such as filter and amplifier frequency-response characterization.
Each model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing for the available pre-owned unit. Choose the model whose frequency range, input impedance, and tracking-generator configuration fit your application, then select the listed pre-owned unit.
The R3261D extends coverage to 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz with a 50 ohm, N-type input. It is a spectrum-analyzer configuration without the internal tracking generator found on the R3361 group.
The models divide along three axes shown in the comparison table. Frequency coverage is 9 kHz to 2.6 GHz on the R3261C, R3261CN, R3361C, and R3361CN, and 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz on the R3261D and R3361D. Input impedance is 50 ohm on the C and D variants and 75 ohm on the CN variants.
The internal tracking generator is provided on the R3361C, R3361CN, and R3361D only; the R3261 models do not include it. Additional functions such as the controller and burst-signal (intermittent signal) measurement capability are available as options across the series, as indicated in the comparison table.
