The Keysight U3606B Multimeter | DC Power Supply is a one-box source-and-measure device that pairs a full-featured 5½-digit digital multimeter with a built-in 30-W DC power supply. Because a single unit can power the device under test while simultaneously measuring voltage and current, it performs two test functions in the same instrument, occupying a compact footprint in place of two separate boxes. The combined unit is lighter than a standalone DMM and power supply together, making it straightforward to move between benches.

The U3606B is suited to applications across education, commercial electronics, semiconductors, sensors, and research and development. Its ramp and scan sweep functions simplify device characterization for multilevel DC bias testing such as DC motor testing, transistor gain test, relay control, and margin tests. The square-wave output serves uses including pulse-width modulation (PWM), adjustable voltage control, and synchronous clock generation, and supports checking and calibrating flow-meter displays, tachometers, LEDs, sensors, oscilloscopes, frequency converters, frequency transmitters, and other frequency-input devices.

Important: Safety class I instrument: the protective earth terminal must be connected to an earth ground through a power source with a 3-wire ground receptacle.
Important: Any current measurement greater than 500 mA will have a temporary thermo-effect. If you wish to measure a lower current or offset current immediately after a high-current measurement, ensure that the U3606B has cooled down.
Recommended pairing: the 11059A Kelvin probe set or 11062A Kelvin clip set listed among the accessories supports the four-wire low-resistance (milliohm) measurement function.
Important: For resistance measurements above 100 kΩ, a shielded test cable is recommended to eliminate noise interference that may be induced by the test leads.
Important: For 2-wire resistance measurements without using the Null math operation, add a 0.2 Ω error.
Recommended pairing: the U8202A Electronic Test Lead Kit and 34133A Precision Electronic Test Leads listed as accessories for the DMM function.
