The FLIR TG297 is a high-temperature spot thermal camera that combines accurate non-contact temperature measurement with a 160 × 120 pixel true thermal imager, enabling users to image targets up to 1030°C (1886°F). FLIR MSX (Multi Spectral Dynamic Imaging) enhancement embosses visual scene details onto full thermal images to improve image clarity, while a multipoint laser pointer projects a circle that clearly identifies the area being measured. The TG297 sees beyond the limitations of single-spot IR thermometers, giving engineers and maintenance technicians a true thermal view of hot processes that single-point pyrometers cannot provide.
The TG297 is designed for high-temperature industrial applications, including measuring the heat of glass furnaces, kilns, and forges, as well as manufacturing processes. It allows users to accurately target potential faults, troubleshoot repairs, and monitor processes, with the ability to record images that document machinery and systems are functioning safely and at peak efficiency. The combination of a wide -25°C to 1030°C temperature range with thermal imaging makes the instrument relevant across the full span of industrial heat-related diagnostics described in the product literature.
ValueTronics maintains a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where every instrument is inspected, performance-verified, and prepared for shipment by our in-house team. This is the operational foundation that distinguishes us from drop-shippers and pass-through brokers: when you order a TG297 from ValueTronics, the unit was physically in our facility, evaluated by our technicians, and shipped from our inventory — not forwarded from a third-party listing we have never seen.
FLIR Systems was founded in 1978 and grew into the dominant brand in commercial thermal imaging globally. In 2021, FLIR Systems was acquired by Teledyne Technologies and the combined entity now operates as Teledyne FLIR. The FLIR brand name has been retained on the product portfolio because of its established recognition in the thermal imaging market.
