DTMB is the name of the released standard for digital terrestrial television and digital terrestrial handheld service in China. The transmission standard complies with specification Chinese National Standard GB 20600-2006.

The transmission standard supports two techniques for modulation. Orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) and a single carrier technique.

The forward error correction (FEC) is based on a randomizer, BCH encoder and LDPC encoder. Time interleaving is performed afterwards.
