The Agilent N5227A PNA Network Analyzer is a high-performance vector network analyzer covering 10 MHz to 67 GHz, available in 2-port and 4-port configurations. The instrument is offered in six option configurations: Option 200 (2-port base), Option 201 (adds front-panel jumpers and R1 receiver switch), Option 219 (adds front-panel jumpers, R1 receiver switch, source and receiver attenuators for extended power range, and bias-tees), Option 400 (4-port base), Option 401, and Option 419, with the 4xx options providing equivalent feature sets for four-port measurements.
The N5227A is used for vector network analysis applications requiring measurement of S-parameters across a broad RF and microwave frequency range. The datasheet documents support for pulsed RF measurements including point-in-pulse and pulse-profile measurements via internal IF gates, external IF input capability for use with remote mixers bypassing the PNA's first converters, and an external test set driver for driving remote mixers. The instrument supports calibration with the 85058B mechanical calibration kit and the N4694A 2-port electronic calibration module.
ValueTronics International stocks, tests, and ships the Agilent N5227A PNA Network Analyzer from our 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Since 1992, our in-house technical team has specialized in professionally inspecting, performance-verifying, and grading high-value RF and microwave instrumentation like the N5227A before shipment. Whether you require a {{CONDITION}} unit configured to Option 200, 401, 419, or any other supported variant, our depth in microwave network analyzer inventory and our calibration support relationships allow us to deliver the right instrument with the right documentation for your test program.
Agilent Technologies was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999 as HP's test and measurement, semiconductor products, chemical analysis, and medical businesses. In 2014, Agilent further separated its electronic measurement business into a new company, Keysight Technologies, which now markets the current generation of PNA network analyzers. Instruments manufactured under the Agilent brand, such as the N5227A, are part of this continuous lineage of test and measurement instrumentation.
The N5227A PNA Network Analyzer family is offered in six option configurations that share the same 10 MHz to 67 GHz frequency range and core measurement architecture, but differ in port count, front-panel access, and power range capability. The 2-port models (Options 200, 201, 219) and 4-port models (Options 400, 401, 419) are organized as parallel feature tiers, with each port-count base model offered in three progressively more capable configurations.
The base options (200 and 400) provide the standard test set without front-panel jumpers. Options 201 and 401 add front-panel jumpers and an R1 receiver switch, enabling direct receiver access for extended dynamic range applications. Options 219 and 419 build on that by adding source and receiver attenuators (extending the power sweep range) and bias-tees on each port.
Each N5227A option configuration listed below is presented on its own product page with condition-matched pricing for the specific pre-owned unit available. Because the option content materially affects measurement capability (extended dynamic range, bias-tee availability, front-panel access), confirm the option string of the unit being quoted matches the configuration your test program requires.
The principal differences across the N5227A family are port count, front-panel jumper availability, and inclusion of source/receiver attenuators and bias-tees. Maximum leveled power specifications are tightest on Options 219 and 419 due to the inserted attenuators in the source path (for example, Port 1 maximum leveled power in the 50 MHz to 2 GHz band is +13 dBm on Options 200/201/400/401 versus +13 dBm on Options 219/419, but at higher frequencies the attenuator-equipped options have reduced max specified power). Conversely, the minimum settable power is -30 dBm on Options 200/201/400/401 versus -80 dBm on Options 219/419, reflecting the wider power sweep range enabled by the attenuators.
System dynamic range at the test port also differs by option, with the base options (200, 400) generally achieving the highest specified system dynamic range in most frequency bands, while Options 219/419 trade a small amount of system dynamic range for the substantially wider power sweep range and the direct receiver access path. The comparison table that follows summarizes the key configuration-dependent specifications across the option set.
