The B&K Precision HVL Series is a family of high voltage DC electronic loads designed for sinking power from high-voltage DC sources in test and measurement applications. The series spans six models covering 600 V, 800 V, and 1000 V rated voltages at either 3 kW (3U form factor) or 6 kW (5U form factor) power levels, with corresponding current ratings from 25 A up to 300 A depending on the model.

The HVL Series is positioned for evaluating DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers, photovoltaic arrays, and other high-power DC sources. The datasheet specifically identifies electric vehicle (EV) battery testing, on-board EV charger characterization, and EV charging station test applications as primary use cases. The 6 kW models double the rated current and total input power of the corresponding 3 kW models — for example, HVL600150 (600 V, 150 A, 3 kW) versus HVL600300 (600 V, 300 A, 6 kW).
