The BK Precision HMR Series is a family of multi-range DC power supplies designed for automated test equipment (ATE) applications that require a wide span of output voltage and current in a compact 3U chassis. Five models are offered: the HMR80360 (80 V/360 A, 10 kW), HMR65046 (650 V/46 A, 10 kW), HMR130023 (1300 V/23 A, 10 kW), HMR500108 (500 V/108 A, 18 kW), and HMR195027 (1950 V/27 A, 18 kW). Each supply combines a large touchscreen display, dedicated rotary knobs for voltage and current, and a safeguarded output on/off button on the front panel, with rear-panel LAN, USB, master/slave communication ports, digital I/O, and remote sense terminals for system-level integration.

A DC power supply provides controlled, regulated voltage and current to a device under test, and is one of the most universally needed instruments across electronics design, production test, and qualification environments. The HMR Series is positioned specifically for ATE and integration use: it offers fast command response, list mode programming for test sequencing, LXI-compliant LAN for straightforward system development, and LabVIEW, IVI-C, and IVI.NET drivers for software control. Typical deployments described in the datasheet include rack-based test systems, battery-powered DUT testing using the configurable internal resistance feature, and high-power applications scaled through master/slave parallel operation up to 1.8 MW.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The HMR Series is offered in five models that share the same 3U chassis, the same touchscreen front panel, the same LAN/USB interfaces, and the same protection, list mode, and master/slave feature set. The models differ primarily in maximum output voltage, maximum output current, and maximum output power. Three models — HMR80360, HMR65046, and HMR130023 — are rated at 10 kW. Two models — HMR500108 and HMR195027 — are rated at 18 kW.

Across the family, multi-range operation means that each supply is not limited to a single maximum-power voltage/current point but instead delivers its full rated wattage across a continuous curve. The choice between models is therefore driven by the maximum voltage and maximum current required for the intended DUT, with the 18 kW pair offering both higher peak voltage (HMR195027) and higher peak current at moderate voltage (HMR500108) than the 10 kW models.

Each new model below is listed on its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing and the specifications shown in the comparison table that follows. Use the links to navigate to the individual model page for full ordering details and current availability.

The most useful way to read the comparison table is to start with the maximum output voltage and maximum output current columns, since these define which model fits a given DUT envelope. The HMR80360 is the low-voltage, high-current member of the family at 80 V and 360 A. The HMR65046 and HMR130023 step the voltage up to 650 V and 1300 V respectively while reducing current. The HMR500108 provides 500 V at 108 A within the 18 kW class, and the HMR195027 reaches the highest voltage in the family at 1950 V and 27 A.

Several secondary specifications scale with the output rating and are worth checking against the application. Programming and readback resolution differ by model — for example, 1 mV/10 mA on the HMR80360 versus 100 mV/1 mA on the HMR130023 and HMR195027. Ripple and noise, line regulation, load regulation, and temperature coefficient also vary across the family in proportion to the output range. The configurable internal resistance adjustment range scales from 0 to 0.2222 ohm on the HMR80360 up to 0 to 72.222 ohm on the HMR195027.

Model Max Output Voltage Max Output Current Max Output Power
HMR65046 650 V 46 A 10 kW
HMR80360 80 V 360 A 10 kW
HMR130023 1300 V 23 A 10 kW
HMR500108 500 V 108 A 18 kW
