The Agilent Infiniium 8000 Series is a family of four-channel digital storage and mixed-signal oscilloscopes engineered for mixed-signal analysis and debug. The series consists of four models: the DSO8064A and MSO8064A at 600 MHz bandwidth, and the DSO8104A and MSO8104A at 1 GHz bandwidth. DSO variants provide four analog channels, while MSO variants add 16 digital timing channels for time-correlated analog and digital measurement. All models share a common 5U high chassis with an 8.4 inch XGA touch screen display, built-in GPIB, and the Infiniium user interface.
The 8000 Series is positioned for engineers working across a range of debug and test challenges, including hardware design verification, embedded systems development, FPGA debug, serial bus analysis, and rackmount production test environments. The MSO models add 16 digital channels suited to evaluating control signal relationships and data buses up to 16 bits wide alongside time-correlated analog measurements. When paired with the optional FPGA dynamic probe for Altera or Xilinx, the digital channels can also be used for rapid internal FPGA measurements. The low-profile 5U chassis makes the series suitable for rackmount applications where stacked instrumentation or rack integration is required.
ValueTronics International stocks, tests, and ships the Infiniium 8000 Series from its 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. Each {{CONDITION}} unit is inventoried in our facility, allowing our team to verify configuration, accessories, and operating condition before the instrument leaves for the customer. This in-house handling distinguishes our model from pass-through brokers and drop-shippers who never physically touch the equipment they sell.
The Infiniium oscilloscope line originated within Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business, which was spun off as Agilent Technologies in 1999. Agilent's electronic measurement business subsequently became Keysight Technologies in 2014. Instruments branded "Agilent Infiniium" are part of this lineage, and the 8000 Series carries the Agilent branding from its original release period.
The Infiniium 8000 Series consists of four models built on a common 5U chassis and shared Infiniium platform. The two performance tiers are defined by bandwidth: 600 MHz on the 8064A models and 1 GHz on the 8104A models. Within each bandwidth tier, the series is offered as either a four-channel DSO or as an MSO that adds 16 digital timing channels for mixed-signal work.
All four models share the same maximum sample rate (4 GSa/s on 2 channels, 2 GSa/s on each of 4 channels), the same standard memory depth (4 Mpts per channel, 8 Mpts on 2 channels), the same XGA touch-screen display, and the same connectivity package including built-in GPIB, LAN, and USB 2.0. The differences between models are bandwidth tier and the presence or absence of the 16 digital channels.
Each model in the Infiniium 8000 Series listed below has its own product page with pre-owned-matched pricing. Use the comparison table to confirm bandwidth and channel configuration, then proceed to the specific model page for current availability.
The two primary differentiators across the family are bandwidth and digital channel count. Bandwidth selection (600 MHz vs. 1 GHz) is driven by the highest-frequency signal the user needs to capture accurately; the 1 GHz models also have a faster calculated rise time (350 ps vs. 583 ps) and lower jitter measurement floor. The DSO vs. MSO decision is driven by whether the user needs to view digital buses or control signals time-correlated to analog waveforms; the MSO models add 16 digital channels with selectable thresholds (TTL, CMOS, ECL, PECL, or user-defined) and glitch detection down to 2.5 ns.
Memory depth is identical at the standard level across all four models. Factory-installed and user-installable memory upgrade options (080, 160, 320, and 640) extend the memory uniformly across the family up to a maximum of 128 Mpts on 2 channels or 64 Mpts on 4 channels. See the comparison table below for the per-model summary.
