The Hioki BT3561A, BT3562A, and BT3563A Battery HiTesters are AC four-terminal internal resistance and DC voltage testers designed for battery cell and battery pack production lines. Each model uses a 1 kHz ±0.2 Hz AC test signal to measure internal resistance, paired with a DC voltage measurement channel. The three models share the same measurement architecture but differ in their maximum DC voltage measurement range — 60 V for the BT3561A, 100 V for the BT3562A, and 300 V for the BT3563A — allowing the operator to select the model that matches the cell or pack voltage being tested.
These instruments are positioned for fully automated production line testing across the lithium-ion battery value chain. The BT3561A targets high-performance cell applications such as electric bikes and power tools and battery packs of up to 60 V. The BT3562A is positioned for large xEV and ESS battery cells and for 72 V and 96 V packs. The BT3563A is positioned for large battery packs up to 300 V used in xEV and energy storage applications.
Hioki E.E. Corporation is headquartered in Ueda, Nagano, Japan, with origins dating to 1935. The company has operated continuously under the Hioki name and has not undergone the brand-lineage transitions seen elsewhere in test and measurement, so a customer's Hioki instrument from any era traces directly to the same manufacturer.
The Hioki BT3560A series is a three-model family of battery internal-resistance and DC-voltage testers sharing a common AC four-terminal measurement architecture, a 1 kHz ±0.2 Hz test frequency, and a common interface set (LAN, RS-232C, EXT. I/O handler interface, and analog output). The three models are positioned by the maximum DC voltage the user needs to measure and by which low-end resistance ranges are required.
The BT3561A is intended for cells and packs up to 60 V. The BT3562A extends the voltage measurement range to 100 V and is positioned for large xEV and ESS cells and for 72 V and 96 V packs. The BT3563A extends the voltage measurement range to 300 V for large xEV and ESS packs. All three share resistance accuracy and voltage accuracy specifications on their overlapping ranges, so the model selection is primarily driven by the device under test's voltage class and the low-end resistance ranges the application requires.
Each model in the table below is a separate product page with condition-matched pricing. The BT3561A, BT3562A, and BT3563A are listed individually so that each new unit's specifications, included accessories, and availability can be reviewed before the order is placed.
The three models differ in three primary axes that appear on the comparison table. First, maximum DC voltage measurement: 60 V on the BT3561A, 100 V on the BT3562A, and 300 V on the BT3563A. Second, lowest resistance range: the BT3561A's lowest range is 30 mΩ, while the BT3562A and BT3563A add a 3 mΩ range with 0.1 μΩ resolution at 100 mA test current. Third, voltage range layout: the BT3561A offers 6 V and 60 V ranges; the BT3562A adds a 100 V range; the BT3563A replaces the 100 V range with a 300 V range.
On shared specifications — measurement frequency, response time (10 ms), sampling periods, allowable total line resistance on the 300 mΩ and 3 Ω ranges, voltage basic accuracy, resistance basic accuracy on ranges 30 mΩ and above, and the connectivity set — the three models behave identically. The comparison table below shows the per-model differences without restating the shared architecture.
| Model | Max Voltage | Min Resistance Range | Max Resistance Range |
|---|---|---|---|
| BT3561A | 60 V | 30 mΩ | 3 kΩ |
| BT3562A | 100 V | 3 mΩ | 3 kΩ |
| BT3563A | 300 V | 3 mΩ | 3 kΩ |
Additional differences in specifications beyond the few shown above are not listed here — see each model's full specifications below.
