The Fluke 732A is a solid-state DC reference standard providing 10V, 1V, and 1.018V outputs in a single instrument. Its 10V output offers better resolution, lower noise, and simpler operation than standard saturated cells, while the 1V and 1.018V outputs allow direct substitution for saturated standard cells in many traceability applications.
The 732A is designed for primary voltage reference work in calibration laboratories, standards transfer, and high-performance instrument calibration. The 10V output as a primary reference reduces thermal emf and noise effects compared to saturated cell stacks, and the 1V and 1.018V outputs allow the 732A to function as a direct replacement for saturated standard cells where those cells are fragile or unsuitable for transport. The instrument was originally developed for Fluke's own manufacturing facility to transfer the volt into operations, and its performance led to its release for the broader commercial calibration market.
ValueTronics stocks and tests Fluke 732A DC reference standards from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Standards-grade instruments like the 732A require careful handling, documented inspection, and a knowledgeable supplier who understands the difference between a unit that powers on and one that holds its specified stability — and that is the standard we hold every reference standard to before it ships.
Fluke Corporation has operated under its own name in the precision measurement industry for decades and remains the source brand for this instrument. The 732A predates the corporate reorganizations that affected other test and measurement product lines and continues to be referenced by its original Fluke designation throughout the calibration laboratory community.
The 732A is offered as a single model with three calibration and shipment options that differ in how the unit arrives at the customer's facility relative to its reference standards laboratory baseline. All three options are the same hardware — the 732A DC Reference Standard — with the same 10V, 1V, and 1.018V outputs and the same stability, temperature coefficient, and output specifications.
The differences across the three options come down to whether the unit ships with standard calibration, with a special calibration performed at the Fluke Standards Laboratory, or with both a Standards Laboratory calibration and drift certification — and, in the latter two cases, whether the unit is shipped hot (continuously powered) to preserve its calibrated state in transit.
Each new 732A configuration shown below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the option that aligns with your laboratory's calibration transfer requirements and your facility's procedures for receiving a powered reference standard.
The base 732A ships with the standard factory calibration and is delivered in the normal manner — the receiving laboratory powers the unit up and stabilizes it for 24 hours before performing its own calibration against local traceable standards. This is the appropriate configuration when the receiving facility maintains its own reference standards and intends to characterize the 732A against those standards on arrival.
The 732A-000 ships with a special calibration performed at the Fluke Standards Laboratory and is shipped hot — continuously powered during transit — to preserve the calibrated state. The 732A-100 adds drift certification to the Standards Laboratory calibration and is also shipped hot. These two options are designed for facilities that need to receive the reference standard with a traceability path already established back to the Fluke Standards Laboratory, rather than performing the establishing calibration on arrival. The comparison table that follows details the configuration, shipping state, and price of each option.
