The Extech 45168CP is a pocket-sized Mini Thermo-Anemometer with a built-in compass, designed to combine windspeed measurement, environmental readings, and directional information in a single handheld instrument. The unit folds for storage and extends up to 9 inches when taking measurements, and its housing is water resistant, floats, and is drop-tested to 6 feet for use in demanding field conditions.
The 45168CP measures windspeed across six units — feet per minute, meters per second, kilometers per hour, miles per hour, knots, and Beaufort Force — with a 10-second averaging function and a Max recall for the highest reading captured over time. Beyond windspeed, the instrument provides Temperature, Relative Humidity, Dew Point, Wet Bulb, and Windchill, along with a Delta T display showing Air Temperature minus Dew Point. The built-in compass provides 360° wind direction readings and supports Head, Cross, and Tail Wind calculation, with a user calibration procedure for improved accuracy.
