The B&K Precision 2510B Series is a family of handheld digital storage oscilloscopes that combines two-channel oscilloscope capability with a built-in 6000-count digital multimeter and data logging functions in a single portable, battery-powered instrument. The series spans four models — the 2511B and 2512B with non-isolated inputs, and the 2515B and 2516B with fully isolated, floating CAT III 600 V / CAT II 1000 V rated inputs — covering bandwidths of 100 MHz and 200 MHz.
The 2510B Series is designed for industrial applications, power systems work, electronic design, and field test and service. The isolated 2515B and 2516B models specifically address power electronics and industrial measurement scenarios where floating differential measurements are required and neither test point is referenced to earth ground. The non-isolated 2511B and 2512B models target general electronics applications where the standard 300 V CAT II input rating is sufficient. The built-in multimeter and scope recorder functions support field troubleshooting and long-term signal monitoring without requiring additional instruments.
ValueTronics International, LLC stocks and supports the B&K Precision 2510B Series from its 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. As an authorized B&K Precision distribution partner, ValueTronics offers these handheld oscilloscopes new with full manufacturer warranty, alongside professionally tested and graded pre-owned units when available. Every instrument that passes through the Elgin facility — new or pre-owned — is handled by technicians who understand the difference between a working oscilloscope and a calibrated measurement tool, with documentation prepared to match the buyer's quality system requirements.
The B&K Precision 2510B Series organizes four handheld digital storage oscilloscope models around two primary dimensions: input isolation and bandwidth. All four units share the same chassis, the same 5.6-inch TFT display, the same 1 GSa/s maximum sample rate, the same 12 Mpts memory depth, the same 6000-count built-in multimeter, and the same data logging and serial decode capabilities. The differences across the series come down to which model fits the working voltage environment and the highest frequency signal under test.
Models 2511B and 2512B provide two non-isolated channels rated for 300 Vrms CAT II, targeted at general electronics applications. Models 2515B and 2516B provide two fully isolated, floating channels rated for 1000 Vrms CAT II / 600 Vrms CAT III, targeted at power electronics and industrial measurement scenarios where neither test point is referenced to earth ground. Within each pair, the lower-numbered model offers 100 MHz bandwidth and the higher-numbered model offers 200 MHz bandwidth.
Each model in the 2510B Series is listed as its own dedicated product page with new-matched pricing and availability. The comparison below highlights the specifications that vary across the family — bandwidth and input isolation — so the right model can be identified before pricing is reviewed on the individual product page.
The first differentiation across the 2510B Series is input isolation. The non-isolated models (2511B and 2512B) share a common signal ground between channels and a shared connection to the chassis and protective earth, with a maximum input rating of 300 Vrms CAT II between BNC signal and protective earth and a 30 Vrms maximum reference floating rating. The isolated models (2515B and 2516B) provide electrically isolated circuit design between inputs and the digital acquisition circuit, supporting 1000 Vrms CAT II / 600 Vrms CAT III between BNC signal and protective earth and equivalent floating reference ratings. Per the datasheet, isolating the ground references eliminates ground loops and helps reduce channel noise and crosstalk.
The second differentiation is analog bandwidth. The 2511B and 2515B provide 100 MHz bandwidth with a typical rise time of less than 3.5 ns. The 2512B and 2516B provide 200 MHz bandwidth with a typical rise time of less than 1.7 ns (non-isolated) or less than 2.0 ns (isolated). The lower-bandwidth models specify SFDR including harmonics of ≥ 30 dB, while the higher-bandwidth and isolated models specify ≥ 28 dB.
| Model | Bandwidth | Channels | Isolation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2512B | 200 MHz | 2 non-isolated | Non-isolated, 300 V CAT II |
| 2511B | 100 MHz | 2 non-isolated | Non-isolated, 300 V CAT II |
| 2515B | 100 MHz | 2 fully isolated | 1000 V CAT II, 600 V CAT III |
| 2516B | 200 MHz | 2 fully isolated | 1000 V CAT II, 600 V CAT III |
