The Agilent ENA Series comprises the E5070B and E5071B RF network analyzers, available in two-, three-, and four-port configurations for measuring the reflection and transmission characteristics (S-parameters) of RF components and devices. Built on a Windows-based graphical user interface, the ENA can be operated through a hardkey panel, an optional touch screen, or a mouse, and presents results on a 10.4-inch TFT color LCD. The E5070B covers 300 kHz to 3 GHz and the E5071B covers 300 kHz to 8.5 GHz, with Type-N female 50 Ohm test ports nominal.

The ENA Series supports full 2-port, 3-port, and 4-port calibration to remove systematic errors for the highest measurement accuracy in coaxial and non-coaxial environments such as on-probing, in-fixture, and waveguide measurements via TRL/LRM calibration. Three- and four-port configurations add mixed-mode S-parameters, balanced parameters, and CMRR for measuring balanced (differential) devices. The instrument also provides scalar-mixer and vector-mixer calibration for conversion loss and absolute group delay measurements on frequency-translating devices, plus network de-embedding using two-port Touchstone data files.

ValueTronics stocks test and measurement equipment in our own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Because we hold inventory directly, every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house by qualified technicians before it ships, while new units leave our facility factory-sealed exactly as received. That combination of real stock and real verification is what separates a ValueTronics order from a listing fulfilled sight-unseen from a third party.

Brand Heritage

Agilent Technologies was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999 as a separate test-and-measurement and life-sciences company. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement business was established as Keysight Technologies, which carries forward this product line today.

Compare Other Models in This Series

The ENA Series on this datasheet spans two analyzer models and a companion multiport test set. The E5070B covers 300 kHz to 3 GHz and the E5071B covers 300 kHz to 8.5 GHz, with each available in two-, three-, or four-port form via options -214, -314, and -414. All share the same Windows-based platform, 10.4-inch display, Type-N 50 Ohm test ports, and automation interfaces.

Three- and four-port configurations add mixed-mode S-parameters, balanced parameters, and CMRR for differential-device measurement, while the two-port configuration measures S11, S21, S12, and S22. The E5091A multiport test set option further expands the system to 9 or 25 test ports for high-port-count work.

Each pre-owned model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the frequency range, port count, and options that fit your application, and review that page for its specific configuration and availability.

The primary differences across the family are frequency coverage and port count. The E5070B reaches 3 GHz and the E5071B reaches 8.5 GHz; both are configured as 2-port (-214), 3-port (-314), or 4-port (-414), with the 3- and 4-port options adding balanced and mixed-mode measurement capability. The comparison table below summarizes these per-model differences.

Several capabilities are delivered through options rather than the base unit: option -008 enables up to 20,001 points and absolute parameters, option -010 adds time-domain analysis, option -016 adds the touch-screen interface, and option -1E5 provides a high-stability frequency reference. Source stability and CW accuracy figures differ between the standard -UNQ timebase and the -1E5 high-stability timebase as shown in the table.

Model Frequency Range Max Test Ports Connector Type

Important: Damage level: RF +20 dBm; plus/minus 10 VDC (source attenuator = 0 dB), plus/minus 25 VDC (source attenuator 5 dB or more, typical).
Important: A third-wire ground is required for the AC line power connection.
Important: All specifications apply over a 5°C to 40°C range (unless otherwise stated) and 90 minutes after the instrument has been turned on.
Important: Error-corrected (warranted) measurements require a calibration kit or electronic calibration (ECal) module selected per the device connector type — e.g., 85032F (type-N 50 Ω) or 85033E (3.5 mm) mechanical kits, or 85092C/85093C ECal modules; these calibration standards are referenced in the corrected-performance tables and are ordered separately.
Important: Time domain functions require Option E5070B-010 or E5071B-010.
Important: Frequency-offset measurement, absolute parameters, and 20,001-point sweeps require Option E5070B-008 or E5071B-008.
Important: The E5091A multiport test set requires connection to an E5070B/E5071B network analyzer via the rear-panel USB (type B) port; it provides test set input/output performance without calibration by the E5070B/E5071B.
Recommended pairing: add the E5091A multiport test set to extend the E5070B/E5071B to 9-port (option E5091A-009) or 25-port (option E5091A-016) measurements over 50 MHz to 8.5 GHz.
