View full details

The R&S SMV03 is a vector signal generator covering 9 kHz to 3.3 GHz. It is based on the analog R&S SML03 signal generator and shares its technical characteristics, adding a broadband I/Q modulator that generates digital signals in conjunction with an external I/Q source. This combination lets one instrument serve both as a capable analog signal source and as an entry point into vector-modulated, automatic test applications across R&D and service.

The R&S SMV03 is positioned for production, laboratory and R&D, and servicing work. In production it supports fast, repeatable measurements with frequency and level setting times below 10 ms, while its high level accuracy reduces test-setup uncertainty and helps lower production rejects. In R&D it handles the wide variety of digital signals used when developing new systems that are not always covered by an existing standard. For service use it is lightweight and compact, and it can be controlled over a standard RS-232-C interface where an IEC/IEEE bus is not available.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own inventory in a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every used unit we sell is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer. Holding our own stock lets us ship quickly and stand behind the condition of what we sell.
