The Rohde & Schwarz SM300 is an RF signal generator covering the 9 kHz to 3 GHz frequency range. It combines a broad scope of functions, high signal quality, and a compact design, and is positioned as a favourably priced instrument within the lower price segment of RF signal generators. An internal LF generator covering 20 Hz to 80 kHz supports modulation and standalone low-frequency output.
Its intended applications include generating precise test signals for laboratory, service, production, and quality-assurance work. Stated uses cover the provision of digitally modulated signals across the 9 kHz to 3 GHz range, signal generation and modulation for EMC measurements of components, functionality testing of components in production, and semi-automatic measurements that recall stored instrument settings at the press of a button. It is suited to both digital and analog mobile radio work as well as EMC applications.
