The Astro-Med TMX-18 is a portable high-speed data acquisition system that combines 18 channels of isolated voltage and DC bridge inputs with a 17-inch touch-screen display in a single ruggedized chassis. The base configuration uses three UNIV-6 Universal Isolated Voltage Modules, each providing six channels with 250 Vrms (Cat II) isolation, AC/DC coupling, and selectable input ranges from 200 mV full scale through 800 V full scale. Sample rates reach 800 kHz per channel with bandwidth up to 100 kHz, and each channel uses a separate 16-bit A/D converter so that multi-channel data remains time-aligned at acquisition.

The system is designed for field and lab applications where long-duration trending must be combined with the ability to capture transient events without missing detail. Listed use cases include long-term trending and high-speed event detection, transient capture, timing and synchronization analysis, power monitoring (using the DSP RMS filter), and acceleration/deceleration measurement applications (using the integration and differentiation filter functions). The 18-channel chassis accepts up to three analog input modules and provides 16 TTL event inputs along with derived-channel math functions including sum, difference, product, quotient, exponential, sine, cosine, tangent, inverse trig, exponential square root, and absolute value.

Whether you are integrating a TMX-18 into a flight test instrumentation rack, a production-floor monitoring station, or a long-duration vibration survey, ValueTronics stocks, tests, and ships data acquisition systems from our 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Our in-house technical team verifies functionality before each unit ships, which matters for multi-module DAQ systems where channel count, input module configuration, and optional capabilities such as IRIG/GPS or CAN bus must be confirmed against the customer's measurement requirement before delivery rather than after.

Brand Heritage

Astro-Med, Inc. operates the Test & Measurement Product Group that manufactures the TMX series along with the company's other recording and data acquisition product lines. The corporate parent, headquartered in West Warwick, Rhode Island, has since rebranded as AstroNova, Inc.; both names refer to the same continuing operation and the TMX product line transitioned with the rebrand.

Accessories Supplied

  • AstroVIEW X PC-based data review and analysis software
  • TMX-18 Offline software
