Key Features At A Glance

  • Two-channel nanovoltmeter optimized for stable, low-noise voltage measurements and low-resistance characterization
  • Typical 15 nV p-p noise at 1 s response time and 40–50 nV p-p noise at 60 ms response time

The Keithley 2182A Nanovoltmeter is a two-channel instrument optimized for making stable, low-noise voltage measurements and for characterizing low-resistance materials and devices reliably and repeatably. It replaces the original Model 2182 and adds pulse capability, lower measurement noise, faster current reversals, and a simplified delta mode for resistance measurements when paired with a reversing current source such as the Model 6220 or 6221.

The 2182A is applied to research, metrology, and other low-voltage testing work. Listed research applications include determining the transition temperature of superconductive materials, I-V characterization of a material at a specific temperature, and calorimetry. Listed metrology applications include intercomparisons of standard cells and use as a null meter for resistance bridge measurements. The combined 2182A and 622X configuration is also used for resistance measurements, pulsed I-V measurements, differential conductance measurements, and nanotechnology work on carbon nanotube–based materials and silicon nanowires.

ValueTronics International is headquartered at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, where we operate a 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse stocking professional test and measurement instrumentation. Each {{CONDITION}} 2182A leaves our facility after inspection by our in-house technical team, which sets us apart from drop-shipping resellers and pass-through brokers who never physically handle the instruments they list.

Important: Input protection is 150 V peak to any terminal and 70 V peak between Channel 1 LO and Channel 2 LO. Channel 2 must be referenced to Channel 1, and Channel 2 HI must not exceed 125% of the selected Channel 2 range (referenced to Channel 1 LO).Important: Channel 2 must be referenced to Channel 1. Channel 2 HI must not exceed 125% (referenced to Channel 1 LO) of the Channel 2 range selected.Important: Input protection is 150 V peak to any terminal and 70 V peak Channel 1 LO to Channel 2 LO. Do not exceed these limits.Important: 2.5 hours warm-up is required to rated accuracy.Important: The Model 2187-4 Low Thermal Test Lead Kit is sold separately and is required for applications where the standard 2107-4 cable is not sufficient (e.g., DUTs with special connection requirements or impedance roughly 1 GΩ or higher, where measuring directly across the DUT leads to loading errors).Recommended pairing: combine the 2182A with a Keithley Model 6220 or 6221 Current Source to enable simplified delta-mode resistance measurements, differential conductance characterization, and (with the 6221) pulsed I-V testing as described in the datasheet.
